This is a blast from the past! I think it was 1977, I took a girlfriend to the Speakeasy Club in London, and lo The Cars did a surprise set.

I never realized until watching Cars clips playing live that Ben sang so many of their songs, him and Ocasek have very similar voices but didn't realize that Ben could just as easily be called the front man as Ocasek.

Never having been a commercial radio listener, other than a brief spell with a FM Atlanta 99X-something in the 90's, I could very well not have heard this one since its record's release, whenever that was way back 70s when. It was a terrific reminder of why we fell instantly in love with The Cars at first note.
Memory of standing in a record store in Eugene Oregon in the summer of 1978. This song comes on overhead and everything stops. Music sears memory.

Benjamin Orr and Ric Ocasek certainly had a groovy sound going on in the 80s. I have countless memories of good times rolling to their music
