I can't avoid hearing The Cure's "Lovesong" in this for some reason. Possibly just me!
Oh this coming on the heels of Vast's "Touched" makes me want to post again how it reminds me of....
Sorry....couldn't help meself. Heh!

I like this, never heard before, and I hear Cat Stevens, and thinking of Harold And Maude.
There is a better sound from a cat with a hairball! Play Something Different/Good.
Found their website, watched their video, bought the album using the iTunes link on RP
Wonderful! Reminds me of the "Ico"-Game-Soundtrack "Castle in the mist":

Where did she go? Dark side of the moon?

God, RP has filled me up with so much new sublime music today.
I am grateful.
Filled, fulfilled, enriched, renewed.
Never bought so many tracks in one day.
A continuous winning streak of delightful melody and revelation.

More like The Good, the Bad and the Grits (or polenta, if you like).
Italian hillbillies? Like spaghetti westerns and The Good, the Bad and the Meatballs?

Sometimes I wonder if you have an ounce of tact in your entire body. This was a beautiful song, but your asinine comment about the donkey was uncalled-for, in my opinion. I hope you don't own any pets, because chances are, if one of them were to upset your musical balance, you'd prolly shoot it. Have a nice day.

For real, the PLO once tied a bomb to a donkey and sent it on a suicide mission to go and kill civilians. PETA had no comment about the act of terrorism, but it did send a letter to Arafat complaining about the treatment of the donkey. True story.
All we can see here is a dusty little donkey, walking away on a country rural road, up a hill in Italy towards the sunset at the end of a movie.
I hope the fucking thing gets run over.

This song sounds like a couple of the tracks from the soundtrack to Ico (PS2/PS3 video game)

Now THAT is a bad use of Photoshop!!!! I feel sorry for the guy in the back row, second from the right, because of what the retoucher did to his head. Then there's the awful use of the Drop Shadow on everyone. Did Stephen Winslow really want his name credited to this? hahahahahaha
Very nice song, though.
Maybe that guys head is just shaped like that. Wouldn't you feel like a jerk then?

Hum, got to upload some Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain to Counter this...
Man, that was great! Can't find it on iTunes, though.

Thats what I love about RP - I get to hear wonderful music like this that I don't usually get.

Things are so much better here in the mountain West.
I agree. Will you buy my house down here in the Bible Belt? I want to move there. You could turn it into a nude dancing club. That would piss off the Fundies around here. Heehee.
that was just lovely.

Makes me wish I had somebody to dance with right now. A friend of mine plays this beautifully on the violin.

Simply beautiful. Thanks for playing something off the beaten music path.

It sounds a lot like the Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".
Perhaps no accident that it comes right after "A Day In The Life", then?

Written by John Goodin. He plays mandolin and guitar for a unique contra dance band, Contratopia. You can hear clips of their version of this on their website.
You can read more about MMS (and order CDs) here.

Yeah, like the Grateful Dawg's version of Sitting Here In Limbo with mandolin... or some Mike Marshall/YoYoMa collaborative thing...
How lovely, the mandolin is always a nice change of pace, melody is sort of maudlin though...like a poor man's Loreena McKennit.
Segue into Nickel Creek? Grisman?
lovely. merci.
If this is to your liking- check out David Grisman Quartet, or the Modern Mandolin Quartet- all awesome playing, and with the layering of the mandolin-family instruments, a wonderful sonic painting!

This "alternative" alternative music puts RP in a league of its own. From A Day in the Life to Urban Species and now to this .....amazing.
It's a good set again today, too. How am I supposed to get any work done with so much good music begging for me to read comments?
