We must have been stone crazy
When we thought we were just friends
'Cause I miss you, baby
And I've got those feelings again
I guess I'm all confused about you
I feel so in love
Oh, baby, what can I do?
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you, shi-pow-pow
Suddenly we're strangers
I watch you walking away
She was my one temptation
Oh, I did not want her to stay
Deep down, I'm still confused about you
I feel so in love
Oh, baby, what can I do?
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you, shi-pow-pow
What good is being here without you?
I feel so in love
Oh, baby, what can I do?
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you, shi-pow-pow
When we thought we were just friends
'Cause I miss you, baby
And I've got those feelings again
I guess I'm all confused about you
I feel so in love
Oh, baby, what can I do?

This came out of nowhere, which is what I love about RP. Love that vote distribution too. YIKES
Newest comment 17 years ago sans mine... what a snotty bunch of h8ters!!!
Bill, you're purposely giving us something to complain about, right? You know we're not happy unless we get to bitch about something every now and then...
This is pretty awful.
aw come on - this is fun. this would go SO perfectly in a set that included Billy Ocean, Hall & Oats, and perhaps, Rick Astly. How 'bout it??
Please...make....it....stop....
I just pooped on my computer speakers.
Oddly, it made this song sound better.
English Beat YES
London Beat NO
No... you had it right the first time... this is a poop on song.

It is very strange but I kind of like this and I am not sure why. This is the sort of song I would normally say it is to poop on. Go figure.

Barf!
Doesn't belong here. There's a reason that it's a 4.
The original was bad, the remake is bad. RP often playes remakes, some of which change or improve on the original. This is just not one of them....
Of course this isn't the best song but lets appreciate the diversity of RP. I for one like to hear chessy songs every once and a while.
Makes me want to get back on the dance floor with my cousin V. at his daughter's FABULOUS wedding last night!
complete europop rubbish - "nil point!"
yuck.

When was this song originally released? It is such pure 80s, yet I take it it's more recent than that. It certainly sounds like a FYC ripoff (unless London Beat has that adorable lead singer from FYC moonlighting for them) I'd agree that I was surprised to hear it playing on RP, but even though I'm not nuts about the song, that's what I love about RP! Never a dull musical moment!
This song evokes the early 90s and elementary/high-school dances for me. For that reason, I have to smile when hearing it, even if it's kinda crappy.
The chord progression is interesting, but the lyrics are pure sentimental cheese. A much, much better choice from a similar style would be New Order's "Regret," or Pet Shop Boys "Go West"---something with more genuine camp and more substantial lyrics. The more acappella material at the end is just restating over and over again, and isn't musically taking this song anywhere
Instead of butchering really good classic songs, why doesn't Nike buy this one and change it to "I've Been Thinking About Shoes?"
Well, this is unexpected.
Switch off the annoying beat machine and this song could actually be quite good. Like that, it just gives me a headache. It's like constant pounding on the head with a very, very heavy hammer.

"Welcome to Friday's. Can I take your order?"
Yah. Seems like I should be devouring a "Death by Chocolate" while listening to this. Oh, that's Bennigan's.

I would not expect to hear this song on RP. Please take it out of the playlist.
ARe you listening??
we ALL agree. This is pure disco crap that is already overplayed on commercial pop stations. It has NO business on a classy station such as RP!!!!
Take it off the playlist please!!!
LOL wtf...
I would not expect to hear this song on RP. Please take it out of the playlist.

AHHHHHHH!!!!!! I'm supposed to be hip and alternative and not like this, but it's really not that bad!!! IT'S TOO FUN!! FUN MUSIC IS BAD!!!! IT'S NOT COOL TO BE FUN!!!
Jokes, repeat after me : "Ritalin is not for me. Ritalin is not for me."
HAHAHA!!!

FWIW, This song had a lot of trouble getting airplay on a lot of stations because its not by a formula band. It was a little too complex, but I guess the kids will respond to the lyric, if it's repeated 100X (as usual )
I welcome the occasional diversion to keep RP eclectic. And there's SOOO much worse crap out there!

I disagree. In order for RP to be RP, they need to play songs like this every once in a while.
What to remind us that at any moment they could turn into a bad radio station? It's not like this song represents some kind of diversion from what you could hear anywhere else. RP is supposed to be an oasis from this drivel. Perhaps this is a fund-raising ploy...

Woah, I was NOT expecting this song. It's "acceptable" only if this is the last time I hear it for another 7 years.
I kind of feel the same way. Never liked this song. It starts getting on my nerves and I want to ask him, "Why the heck have you been thinking about me? I don't even know you."
I tuned in just after this played, sorry I missed it! This song is so me cruising around in my parents' car without them knowing about it.... :) Hooray for 1991!
LOL, this plays and everyone immediately responds to it. This is hilarious. I like the song but I totally wan't expecting it. I'll agree with the poster that says that to be RP, RP has to play something like this once in awhile.
i'm trying to like this song despite the overall cheesiness of it.
Hmmm....did I just switch to lite rock 98.1 accidentally?
I love this song.
Damn good chorus . Good pop, like the Diet Coke I just got.

Makes me want to get up and dance.
Definately not a song I like. Maybe for partying, not for listening.
I disagree. In order for RP to be RP, they need to play songs like this every once in a while.

Yea, maybe in the right club on the right night I'd dig this...or not.
Or it might be cool to have a gag trackon RP... But give me some warning, man!
Give it a 4 (up from something less than 4), because its kind of funny to hear this song on this station. I always appreicate some good humor. (chicowpow)
Does anyone remember the skinny red haired guy who sang a couple of pop songs in the late 80's? Is this him?
Whoah! This song is unexpected. Sorta like finding a quarter in the couch. I kinda like it, but it's not gonna make me rich.
Man Tux you even have to say how much you hate U2 on a London Beat thread? That is passion. :)
Madina wrote:
THIS is better than U2? eeeek. How did this song get on RP? It doesn't fit at all.
ANYthing is better than U2. U2 sucks bigtime. I want an auto-mute on U2.
I can stand London beat. I don't enjoy it though.
WOW!!! On RP!? Where did this come from? I have to admit I actually own this CD.
I guess I was lonely for Fine Young Cannibals!
I'm kind of saying, "WTF?"
This like Billy Ocean or something....not RP music whatsoever.
Tux wrote:
It just doesn't meet the avarage qualitee from RP (but at least it's much better than U2)

This exibits so much of what was really bad about 80s music. Quite shocked to hear it here...
I guess that when you engage in time travel, you sometimes end up in an unexpected place.
I was just thinking this morning 'who sang this song?'. I like it.
cataloger wrote:

Me neither, but I can't complain. It's kind of a guilty pleasure flashback. For me, anyway.
OK, I had to double check to see if this was still RP. Hmmmm....
It just doesn't meet the avarage qualitee from RP (but at least it's much better than U2)
Woah, I was NOT expecting this song. It's "acceptable" only if this is the last time I hear it for another 7 years.
8O :headshake:

Back on the shelf for another 19 years please. With a 4.1 rating I think most people would agree.
