I've been a traveler of far away lands
I've got love on my mind, but death on these hands
come homeward angel, show me the way
or will fate leave me dead in the tracks where I lay

show me the river that leads to my home
back to the one that I love
show me the wind that constantly blows
and I will fly away, fly away home

since we were parted I know I have changed
you'll see the blood that was shed in the lines on my face
but now that I've turned my back on the fight
I'm gonna steal back my life like a thief in the night

show me the river that leads to my home
back to the one that I love
show me the wind that constantly blows
and I will fly away, fly away home

I come to you through fire and snow
over high rolling hills and the valleys below
with all that I've suffered I'm still on this road
and if I hold you again will never let go.

show me the river that leads to my home
back to the one that I love
show me the wind that constantly blows
and I will fly away, fly away home

playing this song after led zep- just isn't fair, this sounds like my 8th grade dance

Playing this after Sarah McLachlan is much more appropriate.
Sounds like the background music to every evening soap my wife watches right when the hunky guy hooks up with the wonderful empowered woman and you never saw it coming!

Just what I was thinking! Delicious, refreshing , and goes great with soul-food! An 8.
super sticky sweet. but technically not bad.
Train meets Nickle Creek meets Bon Jovi.

I think this is one of the weakest tunes on the album. It is pretty trite but there's most always a clunker on every record.

I'd need to hit the mute button again to get the lyrics. I think I'll just enjoy the quiet until the next song starts.

I think the song is about a guy who used to have a girlfriend and misses her.
if the first few notes of this song didn't remind me of the "Titanic" song, i might like it a little more than i do...
This is a great CD. All quality music with integrity. Good for serious listening and even nice background music.
A bittersweet masterpiece. Of course, the teen-angst factor is missing for some.
Wow, what a dirth of opinions. These guys are great. Of course I'm "into" this kind of music. Amazing how much the woman sounds like Emily of the Indigo Girls. KAC
I really like every Eastmountainsouth song played here on RP. This CD is on my list of must buys.
Aural milk. Meh.
if i had a girlfriend i might like this song, but since i don't, i really hate it... :grumpy.gif:
agree on the production, soothing sound, but who mixed it?
I generally like this group, but this sounds like soemthing from a "Dawson's Creek" episode.

Sittin' on the back porch at dusk, looking down through the trees at the river below. I think if this is the first thing you envision when you hear this song, you will like it. Otherwise, you won't.
kind of uninspired, isn't it?
So trite it's sickening.
Kind of formulaic, a little muddy in production, but sweet enough.
Yet another great band discovered through Radio Paradise! I can't wait to get my copy of the cd from Amazon... That's the only problem of listening to RP -- you'll want to by most of the musc. Cheers Peter
Enjoyable to me.
tasty! gimme more!
I can't believe the rating on this song is so low. I thinks it's beautiful and soothing. I'm tempted to buy the CD.

I am not sure yet, but I think I like it :)
I\'d like to offer a dissenting opinion. Nice melody and uh...some nice guitar maybe... as it is kind of hard to make out though the muddy production. the voice is...um...er... OK, I give up.

Really uninteresting.
This seems pretty slight to me. It needs a visual or a story or something. Adding more context may bring out the strengths of this tune.
Bland, very bland
:) Very nice.
I like it! Smoothe.
