Forgive me.
Not their best work, IMO.  I think the chorus part was overdone, then it ended...

I caught The Hooters show at Phil's Rock 'n Chair in Avalon, NJ just before they broke big.   They were great live, and I had an LP copy of their "Amore" album that had most of their later re-released hits.  That was a fun time in the Philly area.
Hoho! Wow, what a surprise. I saw The Hooters in 1986 at the Cow Palace. They were opening for Loverboy. We stayed for Hooters and left before Loverboy started. They sang this - it was quite nice. I'll give it a respectable 6. Loved that Hooters album (it really was pretty good, and a nice slice of 80's power pop).
Dramatic .... and not in a good way.
Not feelin it....

hmmmm...  at least it is a noble effort...  gives me an LSD flashback...
Well, it's not as bad as some covers of this song...
They really did love that mandolin schtick, didn't they?

A thought from James Boswell's "Life of Samuel Johnson" comes to mind. Whether it's relevant, I leave to you:

"I told him I had been that morning at a meeting of the people called Quakers, where I had heard a woman preach. Johnson: "Sir, a woman's preaching is like a dog's walking on his hind legs. It is not done well; but you are surprised to find it done at all." "

Was that an audience of children?
I don't know...it's an interesting version, but I so miss the heavy drums when they kick in and rock my world. {#Drummer}
Resist. Resist. Anyway...nothing can replace the original by the boys from Liverpool.

REALLY??!!!!!

Amazing band.
I first heard The Hooters sing this at The Meadowlands in New Jersey, during the concert for Amnesty International in 1986. It was awe-inspiring. This version is from Tower Theater in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania according to the liner notes. It\'s not as good, but that\'s because Tower Theater didn\'t have 50,000+ fans in the audience. :)
