It's got a good beat, easy to dance to.
Had to stop right in the middle of painting the living room to find out who this is. Very cool, shades of Dan Hicks here. I like it a lot!!!! 9
Nope, the female singer has not improved since the last time I rated this song. This is truly terrible.
Is it rolling, Bill?

That is exactly we all need: SPACE, Love and especially the hard bullfight like Hemingway knew. Don´t forget having a SIESTA.

Actually, I think it's the pig singing.
I've never rated a song badly for terrible singing. This is a first ...

Hairy little pig
...catchy...

Quite likely. We have javelina (peccary) all over the place...the local golf course has a resident pack you don't want to hit into. Let's just say if the smell doesn't get ya, you don't want to stare a group of these porcupine pigs down for a little white ball.
That said, that's not what the group was going for. "Havalina" is a long way from "javelina"...they were referring to the Pixies.
As of May 2005, the group is no more. Edit: one of the band members has formed a new group Matt Death and The New Intellectuals.
Decent tune.
Cake? Hmm. I don't get it, but ok.
Any-wise, a curious band. Downrated. A pretty good tune.

Right! But spelled javelina. See Roverfish below for details. Nonetheless, major points for this band.

Yep, throw in some horns and you've made a Cake.
Disagree. While I like Cake, for completely different qualities... the singer for Cake has a much more mono-tone voice.

U r on a roll
this groove is too sweet

Sounds very Calexico-ish to these ears. Me likey.
I agree... not unpleasant though.
So cool!

That's one hell of a sequence
amusing title of the album but a poor song. Beer cans thrown at them.
This cheesy sleazy sloppy-drunk good old fashioned fun kinda sounds so good after that tongue-in-cheeky FRANZ! Next, some Cake, some Presidents, some Zappa, B52s, perhaps? Twould be mighty tasty there Bill!
Guitarist Matt Wignall's got a Marc Ribot thing happenin'. Listen to Marc round out various Tom Waits LPs, such as Rain Dogs.

GREAT Band name!
For those in the rest of the world outside of Texas, Havalinas are these wild boars that roam West Texas. The only ones I have actually seen in their natural environment were at Big Bend National Park. A beautiful spot in the desert.
You learn something new every day. Thanks for the clarification! I have always wondered since I heard "Havalina" with the Pixies way back, I could not figure out what the title meant. I thought it was bird or even areoplane of sorts ("among the trees, havalina"), I must have confused it with something else...
But I digress. Good song! :)

Thanks for the correction. The Amazon link at the top of the page should work correctly now.

Been a longtime halvalina fan, in small doses. good to hear it in the mix
Sounds like certain Calexico songs to me.
intonation anyone? ouch!!
This song is similar to Ween\'s \"I\'m Holding You\". But maybe its not similar enough, because it just doesn\'t do it for me!
The lead singer sounds like the singer from Cake... --d
very pleasant :)
A very fun tune

(Mexican Matadors' insult to the Spainish versions of their sport)
Shouldn't their name be Javalina?
Or are they not named for a certain smelly peccary?
(edit)
read back. guess not.
