I want you to know this
My anger's all but done
Sweet Lord, I swear I've seen the darkness
Sweet Lord, I swear I've seen some pain
Satellites ahead, so hold on
Satellites I said, so come on
Here comes a strange cargo
Here comes a light that leaves out of here
Sweet Lord, all I've known is badness
Sweet Lord, all I've known is pain
Satellites ahead, so hold on
Satellites I said, so come on
For seven nights I slept, hold on
The satellites ahead, so come on
I want you to notice
My anger's all but done
and all I've known is madness
Satellites ahead, so hold on
For seven nights I slept, so come on
So hold on
So come on
My anger's all but done
Sweet Lord, I swear I've seen the darkness
Sweet Lord, I swear I've seen some pain

GOOD TUNE! But, not one of their best.

Lead singer and music sounds like a forgotten Elbow track. For this reason...I do like.

this reminds me of Alex Murdock's song- 12, which is really good song when i connect with it, but satellites is not as good.
Okay, right. Not their best. I still love me some Doves ; ) and Coldplay! Um, Coldplay first, tho
...i kind of like doves' one song in all its myriad forms...
This expresses my reaction to this song:
How monotonous and dull, boring, repetitive, bland. Meh squared.
There are better tracks on this CD.
This one's a bit of a snoozer.
Crank it up. Doves are awesome.

...windshield wipiers slapping time... Sorry, but "FREEDOM is just another word for nothing left to lose"! Don't f*** around with the really important and meaningful sayings (at least this is important for me). Trying is just being curious, starting something new, things like that. Otherwise you are right: make a decision it's not that difficult. Like it or not, simple like that. Its music, it's made to entertain you, make you feel good.
By the way, I don't like it.
Coldplay does a much better job!

if this was on a coldplay album I wouldn't notice that it wasn't actually coldplay.
We will, we will... rock you. Actually we won't
crappy lyrics too

While this may be true for 06-04-06 as well . . .
Doves - Satellites
Jump Little Children - Vertigo
Death Cab For Cutie - Summer Skin
Anna Ternheim - I Say No
. . . it's the first time I've heard the set.
I listen to RP often but it's not my only music entertainment. So I'm ok with it.
Well, Bill is pretty much a one man show. It would be tough to man this thing 24/7. I think he needs to hire a part timer to help with the mix and take the load off.

These guys seldom fail to please. They hit those nice harmonies, melodies and subtleties in some ways like the Church used to do when they were good. Sorry, Steve. New album disappointed big time.

I think this is one of those albums that works really good all together. This song loses power when separated from the rest of the album. But still good!

I agree. I liked their earlier albums (like this one) better.

I gave it a 3 because I think Ho Hum perfectly describes this song.

Atmospheric, well-produced, very melodic, even ethereal.
Reminds me of Enya, the Sundays, and the Cocteau Twins in various colors and shadows--all for good.
I have to admit I just don't get the appeal....
Anyone else hear "I'm Comin Home" from the Rocky Horror Picture show here?
they leave the cars in their dust.
(so to speak)

Ahhhhh....so that is what it is like to be a turnip! You learn something new every day. I learned that I am a turnip, and that I don't like this drippy, whiny song!

gimme some of what this guy's smoking...
cheesier than the Cars? now that would truly be a feat!

Teee-friggin-riffic, yessir.
Wow, that was beautiful. I love discovering something new.
I like the Doves. A part of me wonders why they haven't yet been recognized on the radio.
A part of me wonders but most definitely doesn't complain.
It\'s great to hear new songs like this, instead of all those over-played songs from the \'60\'s.
Great Band, and one of the best albums of 2002. They didn\'t get nearly enough press in the States.
it's kinda growing on me now.
What a beautful song (and equally likeable CD)!
Really like the sound of this.

For f*** sake, we just heard the Doves 2 hours ago...
I love rock anthems. This one\'s very well done. They probably close their show with it. Maybe it\'s structure is too simple to make it a lasting masterpiece, but how can you not love a song that takes you along on wave after wave of emotional release. If you can\'t feel it you\'re a turnip.
Please keep it in rotation for at least a few more weeks. Thanks

Perhaps, but not bad at all. Not particularly memorable or innovative, but nonetheless a melodic, dark, brooding and well crafted song. I'm anxious to hear more, if they don't do something spectacular one day I'll be disappointed, and a little surprised. A lot of potential here, just a little too much posing and attitude in this, the infancy of their career. But what do I know, I waited years for the definitive boxed set compilation by "? and the Mysterians".
Cheers
Jacques
O.K. lads, time to put on your guitars..

Not the best thing since sliced bread.
I\'m tired of hearing this song.
I\'ll second that one, Amalia - these guys are tremendous! love it love it love it! :D :D :D
