Very U2 esque vocally

Only every bloody Sunday.
The War on Drugs does the same thing with Dylan, cos they're massive fans.  Inspiration is one thing, but I'm not keen on imitation.  Do your own thing...

I Don't dislike this song, though...

ps Hi, Troll...

Found this link for the band:

http://janah.org/bio

The only band member whose name appears on the site seems to be "founder Keith Johnston." Seems like they are independent of U2, but maybe they are huge U2 fans?

Not Bono

...you're welcome
Put a grin on my face...
Marc Bolan gets a sore throat so Bono joins TRex for a set.
"Oil on my head" Favorite Janah song.  Big Fan here.   They were so amazing live!

Who would have thought that there would be people ripping off already faded and jaded U2? But there are.
U2 meets Led Zeppelin give birth to Janah...I'm liking it
Kindah groovy. Who are these guys? Allmusic.com has got nothing on them.
Like others, I thought: this new U2 is a style departure for them.
Not.
I'll pod this one. Very nice.

gosh, I thought this was the 1st listenable U2 song in 2 decades {#Cheesygrin}
these Bono voice doubles confuse me
this is quite good {#Cool}
I can hear the derivatives -- U2 and others -- but I still like it. Upbeat and meaningful. Haters get some love.

Well, I had it wayyy in the background and I thought (hoped) it might be T Rex. Dang.
does sound a little like u2... and so does Black Rebel motorcycle club... sounds great if you like U@...
Joining the this is U2 bandwagon. I hate U2. I hate this song.
...i totally checked because i thought this was something new by u2 as well!..

I am still not convinced it isn't Bono. I have to say that if I could sing like anyone I chose, Bono would be high on the list. This guy probably considers himself to be somewhat cursed, as I bet he's sick of hearing it, but there are worse people he could sound like. Bob Dylan leaps to mind.

That's my opinion too, so far. And what's with the pseudo-Spanish?
well, see, they sing some in english and some in spanish and mix it in together so the song sounds pretty cool
Does this song ever end?
yeah... I'd never heard this song before, and had to check as I thought the lead singer sounded very like Bono (...I'm not the only one, it seems). Everyone's got their influences though, subconscious or not. I heard Bono say once that when they started off he found himself singing like Bowie. Hey! Look! It's snowing!

My opinion as of 7:33am is.... Boooooooooooorrrrrriiiiiiiing
I never heard this before, but instantly liked it!
Welcome back into the rotation!

my first thought was that he sounded a bit like Grant Lee Phillips
Well, U2 basically stopped making good music, so I have no problem with someone else stepping in and doing something similar...
I love these vocals.
Hakunah Matatta! (in a good way) 7.

This one sounds better. That's why they get a 2, and not a 1.

Glad I'm not the only one to notice this...

Actually, I thought it sounded a lot like Rusted Root. Overall, a pretty nice tune.
What is this? Wanna be U2??

Diggin this--will see if I can buy thru RP/Amazon to do my part for both band and outlet.
 I\'ve heard you play this quite a bit now, Bill. Please don\'t spoil my enjoyment of this track by playing it too many times. It\'s not like there isn\'t plenty of great music out there, y\'know?
Very interesting. Definitely to be taken with morning coffee. I like everything on the \'Wake of the Sun\' cd.
How. . .tribal, I love it!
Wow ! New band discovery of the week ! Nice little ecstatic release number, \"appropriate for dancing on mountaintops\" always was one of my favorite genres. And as to whether the lead singer sounds like Bono, hell, who cares.A certain gruff warmth has always worked for me, thank-you-very-much !

Nicely put. If the band itself were derivative of U2, that would be one thing, but the guy can't be responsible for his voice sounding like Bono. Nice song.
my favorite new band
OK, I have to admit that I\'m very, very biased with this band. I use to work with the keyboard player. Yes, the lead singer does sound a bit like Bono on some songs, but they are much more creative and original that just that. Their CD is one of my favorite CD\'s out there (I\'ve been listening to them for five years and they are still in my regular rotation). Check out their web-site (www.janah.org) and listen to their re-mixes. Buy their album, you will not regret it! I like to describe their music as a cross between Loreena McKennit & U2, but that\'s just a very high level overview. This is highly intelligent music that is some of the best \"mood\" music I\'ve ever heard. Their sound is also the best sound I\'ve ever heard in an unsigned band. I\'ve seen them live a couple of times (and have asked them to visit me here in LA), they sound as great live as they do in the studio, no tricks used during recording! Again, I may be just slightly biased...
I just saw Janah at Joe's Bar tonight in Chicago. I talked to the lead singer after the show, who was very cool and interested that I heard them before on Radio Paradise. They played two songs I heard on RP, and I swear I was the only one who knew the words...my friends looked at me like I was nuts! (we went there to see the cover band Maggie Speaks). They are a great live band. Go check them out if they ever come to your town. I'm buying the cd right now.
Hmm, already reviewed this one. Never mind.
Yes the vocals sound a great deal like Bono. But the music itself is much more like Peter Gabriel methinks.
What U2 might sound like if Bonehead had any capacity to vary the tone of his voice.
I was just getting ready to post... "Anyone else hear Bono vocals in this song?" Lo and behold, someone had beaten me to it!

I wasn\'t really listening intently to the playlist, then this song caught my attention. WOW! Really nice song. I also enjoy the African influence, it really adds a nice touch.
I couldn\'t agree more 8?. If this is a ripoff of U2 then every band who\'s ever made a record is a ripoff . . . of someone. I\'ve actually heard artists say that they sound like no one. That\'s impossible. That cracks me up. \"So you mean you\'ve never heard any music before and yet you\'re making music? Sans influences?\" Laugh. Anyway I thought they sounded good. Later, fellow RP people.
The sound of Janah just blow me away. Its been years since a band affected me in this way. They are just Brilliant. Hope to see them live ... I play them every day in my car. Excellent cd. 10/10 sound..
Have been working whole night with my school project with deadline tomorrow. Thanks for the great music that held my strength up. :) Bye all music lovers !
I\'m happy to see that I\'m not the only one who thinks this guy sounds like Bono. Kinda makes it interesting. Kinda.
Just another bad clone of a good band.
I\'d say that this lead singer has a much better voice than bone-head or whatever his name is. Less gutteral, more melodic.
I thought that for a second too... but the instrumentation is much more interesting than the band Bono usually sings for... um, what are they called again? :)
Is Bono fronting a new band now? RIPOFF
