I know this from Sir Lancelot! Funny this! And I heard that one in a Zeydeco version which was pretty good!

It's an old form of music; both artists were drinking from the same well.

Was thinking exactly the same thing, right down to the vocals... !!

Whatever. Some music just overstays its welcome.

Crazier than the Zippers, not quite as bonkers as Gogol Bordello, but 100% fun. 7 from the Nottingham jury.

I love your take, fredriley.  I agree.  This is good stuff.  Could NOT find cut-and-pasteable lyrics for this song, but it doesn't matter.   I love the song, and I guess I could dance to it. {#Bananasplit}

Weird?  Yes!  Too weird?  Not for me.  Looks like it predates SNZ by a year or two, but then I'm not sure if I should trust wikipedia...

Either way, I love both songs.

Wow!  Sounds a lot like Screamin' Jay Hawkins — Frenzy to me.  Like it!

I was sure that this was SNZ, who I think are overrated, but this is cooler - as long as I don't have to hear it too often.

For God's sake, play Leon Redbone now!
Brozman is a virtuoso of the guitar way before the Zippers came along, never got any airplay which is kinda understandable, he wasn't pop 40 lol and that by no means is his best stuff
For a second I thought Arrested Development was on...

in the afterlife / you could be heading for the serious strife / now you make the scene all day / but tomorrow there'll be hell to pay
Apart from the 'look at me, look at me" approach to guitar playing, the 'I wanna be a singer' vocals there ain't much there..  lots of smoke, no fire.... Muddy Waters was fire... I don't love this. It's got no soul.

Sprited and sharp; like a karate master performing kata...this is good.  Maybe not for everyone, but it is good music.
Actually, SNZ were carrying on a style from the '50's as, obviously, was this guy....excellent stuff!!!!

Has anyone ever so blatantly tried and failed at emulating the Squirrel Nut Zippers' "Hell"?
Except that SNZ was formed in 1993, and Bob published this song in 1992. This guy is amazing and deserves some respect, y'all.

Hey thanks Roverfish I had contacted him thru his site and the track here at RP was on a version of slide a go go from now defunct skyranch records. I'll check the live disc. And here is a real gem. Down the Road live on video(!). Crazy good. S https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDzalGMnLw0

that's a lot of fun music for just a guitar and voice

I find this irritating.
Add me to the list of people comparing this to the Squirrel Nut Zippers--- but I think the comparison is complimentary!

Bill does have to sleep sometime. He's got a few sets put together to play when the sandman visits. Why complain, when the alternative would be silence? And before you say, "It's easy to DJ", why don't you go offer your evenings to RP and spin for us instead?

sounds exactly like that Squirrel Nut Zippers song that was popular in the 90s.
Darn it, I'm using Winamp right now. I'd like to hear that one again!
Has anyone found a source for this song? There are a bunch of versions of this disc and some don't have this track.
Really enjoyed this song. Has a similar sound to some of the 'Squirrel Nut Zippers' tunes. Or vice versa. In any event, I'll be looking for more of his music.

Just got an email from his site. The label this disc was on is no more. Time for the used bins.

This guy TRULEY is an amazing musician !*!*!*! ... you have to see him play to really understand !*!* I used to live down the street from him ... in the Santa Cruz mountains ..... I saw his guitar collection back in 1980 .... he had a large room with the walls lined with guitars .... I would imagine the collection has grown a bit over the past 25 years !*!*!* Bob's website
I keep waiting for this to turn into Jockey Full of Bourbon...
Wow. Amazing technique.

So much so that at first I thought it was the same singer and that they were stuck in a stylistic rut.
I'm totally grooving to this song. What a pleasant surprise.
(As Stewie) Augh! I wish this 'Rob Brozman' person would make his way Down the prrroverbial Road!
Sounds like Squirrel Nut Zippers!

Highly entertaining. One could say it sounds(considering contemporary artists) like a collision of They Might Be Giants and Squirrel Nut Zippers. From this wreckage comes some nice picking and vocal stylings.
I was totally thinking that this would be a great song to play either before or after Squirrel Nut Zippers' "Hell"!!!

On lower volume, I thought I was listening to Fishbone there for a minute. Me likes, me likes
Is this Adam Sandler\'s alter ego? Seriously, though, incredible use of the guitar, and some neat recording techniques (listen on headphones). Cool tune!

Bob is truely an amazing artist !*!*!!* I used to live down the street from him in Brookdale, CA .... a buddy of mine took lessons from him back in the late 70\'s. You should see the guitar collection he\'s got !*!*!*!*!* By now it must be in the 100\'s !*!*!*!*
Check out this dude\'s history on AMG...very interesting to say the least.
Weird little song ...with some great guitar work.
It makes for a nice segue. Segueing music is almost a lost art form. Great job, Bill.
