Okay, I love this song, but this remix, not so much. It halfway ruins it for me, really. Still a 6, just because the song itself is a 9 - IMHO.

Pretty much the same reaction here.

Oh man you nailed it!  You have one hell of a memory.

This is an excellent version of MW though.

I like the irony

loved that!!!!!

Awesome song, even better remix. Paul Oakenfold rocks {#Dancingbanana_2}

Ugh. Far from perfecto in my ears.
I generally dislike repetitive extended mixes that don't bring anything new, this is no exception.
This is U2? Not bad!
The original is one of my favorite U2 songs.  This is welcome and interesting iteration.

Yeah...this rocks. {#Bananajam}
Triggered me while working very concentrated, which is a good sign in this case. The remix adds a new dimension to the song, and does that quite well too. Leaves enough of the original spirit of the song, while making it into something new. Apparently, the bass lines and guitars of U2 do match well with electronic music. Nice! 8

Yeah - mix out the vocals and it'd be Most Excellent! {#Bananasplit}

Is it just me, or does the intro sound like one of their other songs? The guitar rhythm / chord sequence reminds me of "Pride", I think. In fact, I came back to the playlist thinking it must be a remix of that! Right band, wrong album *g*

no it's not just you

The first few seconds of this mix always remind me of "Walking In Your Footsteps" by The Police.
Kool tune   I liked this remix much more than the orignal !

Very far from Perfecto. Bad tune remixed does not a good tune make.

indeed!

I normally don't like remixes - remember the 80's when everything was getting remixed ...or was it the 90s? I do like this remix.
would be improved without bono, wouldn't everything?

I don't like that they messed with the lyrics
What a great remix, brings new life to the song.
it gets a 7 from me, i do like remixes though....some are better than others  {#Yes}

I guess to Ben, fighting for liberty is not worth his time.

At last some groovin' music! I thought that at the RP station someone's "mother or their dog just died" to paraphrase Concrete Blonde (which I wish you would also play).
I think you just paraphrased Leonard Cohen?

Someone call the cops!!
For some reason that synth at the beginning reminds me of the jammin' rap number the nerds do in "Revenge of the Nerds" - "clap your hands everybody, everybody clap your hands".

anyone else thinking belly-dancer every time they hear this one??
Belly dancers and goddess worshippers - of Ishtar/Astarte, specifically. Definitely. Although I might add that the original version on Achtung Baby is even more evocative of such imagery than this one.
Another great one!

The best mix for this shit would be a cut-out from start to end, leaving a complete silence. That silence could be used to broadcast *real* music
Now, now. Stop trying to suck up to Physicsgenius. There's only room for one curmudgeon in these parts.
mmm nummy!

same here! It rocks way more than U2. me likey.
This is one of my favorite remixes of this song. I may even prefer it to the album version. Nothing compares to the live versions, though.

One of the things I love about RP are the little cultural aspects of the site, such as how I always seem to check out a U2 song so that I can see what Tux has to say about it, and read the inevitable reactions of other listeners to his comments.

another reason, why remixes should be banned
One of my all time favorite songs! A perfect 10.
That's really nice to know. Since you are exactly 4 days older than me, perhaps we should get a bottle of Champagne in October and put this track on 'repeat'? skindy wrote:

Nice mix, good drums 'n bass... Aah, the Edge's soundscapes...
I'd much rather hear the oringinal... guess I'll have to dig my achtung baby CD out. I've already got War in the changer to keep it company.
Nice remix. Makes the song interesting again. Not that I was tired of it, but I think the better remixes of known classics should receive more airplay here and elsewhere.

absolutely... I cannot abide so much of their music. This one moves me.

Oh, this is very, very, very nice. "Mysterious Ways" is a song that I loved until I heard it one time too many. This makes it fresh again. Thanks, Bill!!

i miss the original version, personally.
\'the perfecto mix\'? Are those guys not the italian faggots who used to screw up good disco tunes in the early 80\'s? Suppose they only switched from disco to fake record company music...
Hey, I was off at another website when that intro hit me and I had to check it out. U2 ! Whoda thunk it ? Nice little move your booty thing we got goin here.

Why do you have to listen to U2? Is someone forcing you? If you choose not to listen to U2 then we won't have to listen to you... :p
It\'s bad enough having to listen to any U2, but a remix is unbearable. This song should never have been made in the first place yet alone redone.
I like the way this remix has \"freshened\" this song.
I actually kinda like this remix. Most remixes turn me off.
This song is tolerable in 3-minute radio-edit doses. Barely. Edited out to half an hour (or so it seems), it becomes spectacularly insufferable.
Love this song, but had never heard this remix. Pretty cool....wonder if I can dance unseen in this here office. :D :p :D
This is OK, but are you sure this is a U2 remix? It sounds more like \"I Travel\" of the Simple Minds to me. Better play that instead. :p
Please make it stop. I like U2 alot, but the original version was played to death on commercial radio, and this version is just too much mix.
Well I like this, but it seems the \"perfect mix\" is just a lot of stereo echo effects. Big deal. I do like the song, though. Oh, and now I see there are a few new riffs in here too...
Excellent tune-I\'m thoroughly enjoying it!! :D
Perfecto my eye!! TOO MUCH U2 EVERYWHERE!!!!

Mango is a bootleg. Melon is the only official remix CD. This was also released, and likely still available somewhere, on teh Mysterious Ways Single. It's better than the Even Better than the Real Thing mixes. Now that's crap. Kevin
Pity, Bono ain't a machine, or it would be Perfecto indeed :D
U2 can do anything they want. I love it all. Remix, live, whatever! :)
I hate techno remixes
is it my Internet connection or is this song really that bad? you should not mix, neither alcohol & grass nor songs like this
like it.
I believe there are 3 more U2 mix compilations where fruit is concerned: Melon, Guava, and Lime (or Orange)? Of course, the only time I got a glimpse of these rarities was at a local, used CD shop. Later.
Have you got your fruits mixed up? The only U2 remix album I can see is titled \"Mango\", and it doesn\'t have a Perfecto mix of \"Mysterious Ways\". I\'m confused.
