Absolute rubbish! I haven't an ounce of American blood in my veins but I can appreciate this guitar picking for what it is and it's good!
too american for my taste.

I'm can live with that assessment. Just not ALL americans.
Can't resist the urge to 'second' that!

Peter Case - fabulous story-teller. Some really fine vinyl records as well.
Kudos to RP!!
I agree. I had a couple of his LPs from the mid '80s and early '90s and they were both great albums. He is still touring as far as I know.
From Pink Floyd to country pickin? Bill, are you having a momentary lapse of reason?

I bought this cd because of hearing this song here. I'm glad I did.

Amazing.
I was just gonna comment on that one, no comment...
Wait... I thought it was Paradise, California?
I wanna go where he's going.
"The apocalypse is over but I still owe rent."
Amazing.
Decent tune this - and very appropriate for RP.

I know it has the work "paradise" in the name, but that is the only reason I can think of that they would play this song!

Friends always ask me where I find my music. These days I always answer "radioparadise". THANKS for introducing me to so many artists. I like this one.
If you liked this, check out "put down the gun", "blue distance", "on the way downtown", and "travelin' light" to name a few. Enjoy!

Oh, I already rated this a 1 last time I heard it. Guess that means I have to leave a comment this time: No thanks. (but I did like the Plimsouls)

Yeah, this sounds so much like Louden. Very similar to to the first track off of Last Man On Earth. Nice and refreshing, indeed...
Better than Peter Cettera
This is fun to hear! Thanks. ">
I thought Rufus was Loudon Wainwright III's only son.
I liked this song better when John Denver did and and called it "Thank God I'm a Country Boy."
Hmm, come to think of it...I didn't like it then either.

More Peter Case! Yahoo!
Thank you!
Yeah ... someone else besides me knows who Peter Case is. Thanks for playing him Bill!!
More Peter Case . . . please!
Fantastic song. Love it.
Splendid! It\'s about time this one made it to RP!
The road I've been on since I was two
Well I just found out that it don't go through
Payday passed my ship came and went
The apocalypse is over and I still owe rent
(They say)
Love is learned when the heart turns stone
Prayer begins when you can't go on
My heart's been rocked the road is blocked
Is that rain I hear drip drop drip drop?
I'm bound for:
Cloudland, dreamland, fairyland
Canaan, Goshen, Shangri-la
Elysium, Arcadia
Paradise, etcetera
She says so what and I don't care
Laughs at the mention of underwear
Gets mad and pouts when it's time to eat
I'm afraid she'll run out in the street
I'm in charge but I get there late
I may be large but I hesitate
But everything's gonna work out fine
When we get across that borderline
We'll be in:
Cloudland, dreamland, fairyland
Canaan, Goshen, Shangri-la
Elysium, Arcadia
Paradise, etcetera
The blue serene the hyaline
Seventh heaven on cloud nine
The realm of light the world above
Milk and honey and a snow white dove
The land of bliss and la ti da
Paradise, etcetera
The got rocks are home in bed
With the newlyweds and the nearly deads
I'm stuck in this primordial ooze
With a case of flying saucer blues
Now this might be my last broadcast
If I don't think of something fast
But someday I'll sing and the songs
I'll come to
Break the hearts of everyone
Down here in:
Cloudland, dreamland, fairyland
Canaan, Goshen, Shangri-la
Elysium, Arcadia
Paradise, etcetera
From Beulah land to Jerusalem
Eden's garden to Kingdom Come
The ancient source of Câbolla
A date with the queen of Mardi Gras
In:
Cloudland, dreamland, fairyland
Canaan, Goshen, Shangri-la
Elysium, Arcadia
Paradise, etcetera
