This album was considered very inventive in the early '70s. I think it's held up well.
Wow, haven't heard Paul Winter in ages.
I used to play this LP to death back in the 70's... I love how contemporary it still sounds.
I liked this song when it came out in the 70's and bought the album. Saw them in concert and was very impressed. I'm a clear minority with a 9 rating, but when this song came out, it rocked.

Yes! RP has fusion, too...!!

Listen to the next song, Neil Finn. Compare and contrast. To each his own.
Yep, love Neil Finn, too... The great variety here is part of what makes RP so incredible!

I wish I understood better what is so UNlikeable about this? Anybody? (not asking to be flamed -- just curious)

I'm with you, I had this album in the 70s. Great stuff, but I guess must be heard in the context of time? The Paul Winter album before this was great! Interesting blend of jazz/experimental/classical.
That's why I always enjoyed the Consort. Thanks, skooney....at least I know someone else enjoyed it in its time.

my thoughts exactly.

I'm obviously in the minority, but this is an all time favorite album of mine. And IMHO, it has aged pretty well.

This came out in '73. They were the first to define this kind of music/musak, so of course everything TV/movies sounds like them (Hill Street Blues, etc.).
Do not want.
The best part about this song is the lyrics.

waaaaayyyyyyy too early for this.
Ouch

It's like Muzak, only without the sparkling musicianship.
It's like Joni Mitchell, only without having to listen to Joni Mitchell. 7/10 just for that fact

Reminds me of Mahavishnu Orchestra but not as intense.
Can't believe there are so many low ratings on this. It's super groovy!
For an instrumental track, this is all over the place. For some reason, I'm also reminded of half a dozen TV theme songs from the 70's and 80's.
