Knowing this may help you to open up your eyes
Spies!
Everywhere from here to London Town
Tracking the thieving meanies below and above ground
Spies, that's right, spies
You see an aardvark on the underground
Then on the bridge, under the tower
In spatterdashes with a plaid umbrella
It's seems he's just a well dressed fella
Spies, that's right, spies
Knowing this may help you make, make it through the night on lullabies
Knowing this may help you to open up your eyes
Spies, that's right
That's right, spies
In a café stalking scary men
Spotting a flying saucer hovering above Big Ben
Spies, that's right, spies
They may say they're on Holiday
Grabbing a latte in a coquelicot beret
Spies, je suis spy
But that hippopotamus
Must stay anonymous for now
Yes, that hippopotamus
Must stay anonymous for now
Here from London up to Aberdeen
Ferry to Dublin, all the way down to Skibbereen
Spies, that's right, spies
Spies don't think that it's absurd
(No spy that I know does not)
Scary men dipped in mustard
(English mixed with Dijon)
Mrs Crabby Apple
Won't get custard
Won't get crumble
Spies, we love spies
Knowing this may help you make, make it through the night on lullabies
Knowing this may help you to open up your eyes with lullabies
Knowing this may help you to, help you close your eyes, get some shut eye
Anyine who refers to custard in a song gets the thumbs up from me. Extra plus-points for it being Tori!
Nice thought :)
We should devise a bonus system. Trick would be that bonuses should vary depending on the author.
Nice song.
Tori looks like an Istar on the cover.
This is . . . this is just bad.
No it is not...you just don't like it. There is a difference.
I see what you did there....and I like it. :-)
He is one half of the duo Ridiculon, responsible for most of Edmund McMillen's (of Binding of Isaac fame) more recent games' soundtracks...
Ooh! A Tori song I haven't rated yet!

I had to think about it for awhile, but: does the beginning of this song remind anybody else of the beginning of The New Pornographer's "Play Money" ?
It doesn't sound very similar to me (at least in the beginnings of both songs): different chord progressions, different tempos, different melodies. Everyone hears different things though.
First date with my wife was to a Tori Amos concert in 1998 as she was on a tour doing shows at the local colleges. I knew I needed a fellow music lover as a partner and being heavily into Tori Amos was a good sign that my (future) wife wasn't somebody who listened to top 40 radio. And 20 plus years later she still listens to good music!
Exact same start to my relationship with my wife in '99 but with different outcome :) she likes top 40 radio and turned out to listen to TA because it was cool then; don't think she focused on the lyrics. she won't listen to her now because she considers her to be sad music :(( I listen alone but I her lyrics are very woman-centric so difficult to relate...

Yes. I heard it too. Which is okay. All music is derivative.
Where's the Piano? IDK not feeling this
It's there. A bit buried in the mix, but it's there.
