The sky is red, I don't understand,
past midnight I still see the land.
People are sayin' the woman is damned,
she makes you burn with a wave of her hand.
The city's a blaze, the town's on fire.
The woman's flames are reaching higher.
We were fools, we called her liar.
All I hear is "Burn!"
I didn't believe she was devil's sperm.
She said, "Curse you all, you'll never learn!
When I leave there's no return."
The people laughed till she said, "Burn!"
Warning came, no one cared.
Earth was shakin', we stood and stared.
When it came no one was spared.
Still I hear "Burn!"
You know we had no time,
we could not even try.
You know we had no time.
You know we had no time,
we could not even try.
You know we had no time.

I’ve rediscovered many great songs on here, and discovered many new ones as well! I love Radioparadise!
Don't think I'd ever heard this before - it's great. I've only recently discovered RP - absolutely brilliant. So much great music I've never heard. Thanks

Saw these guys in Boston on this tour!!

Who is Roger Glover?
I can't imagine what quantity of drugs I'd need to do in order to get through this drum part...
This song is getting old. But good :)
for me, the best DP album ... ever ....

the only way Bill will play David Coverdale
Glenn Hughes, what a voice!
It's hard to type a comment when you are head banging on the keyboard. At least the locks of my youth are no longer getting in the way...
(Needs keyboard emoji)

No need to wallow in your shame. You're not alone. Rate it a 10 and be at peace my brother!
It's difficult to rate songs like this if you're "of a certain age"....on one hand, it throws you back to your teenage years and on the other hand, I sit here now smiling at the screen but my eyebrows are raised at the sheer volume/energy of this (in the morning, no less) and of course the Spinal Tap afterthought. So I sit here and chuckle and enjoy. Thanks for listening.

Cleaning pot and listening to Deep Purple in Kevin’s room in 12th grade. What a world was opening up for us then...
Oh, it seems like the time to KICK ASS

DP's catalog is deep. Would like to hear some of it.

Yeah, I'd have to agree on both counts. The cover art doesn't help.

Stunning guitar playing as ever from Blackmore. Lord on keyboards is always a blessing. Paice on drums providing a solid backbone. Always gets it right. Coverdale isn't quite the heavy rock singer (more bluesy), but he does alright here. The less said about Glenn Hughes' vocals the better.
that double keyboard solo is coming from heaven. RIP Jon Lord.
Yeah, most excellent...."8" , one of the best rock
albums of 1974...
