I can't read signs
The words just never reach my ears and I
Didn't want to try, just to see that smile
And I feel it drive, I feel it drive
The rails are chattering
Somethings coming this way I know it
The rails are chattering
Somethings coming this way I know it

(Go on and) Wake this heart
if you can take it
Where there's no feeling, there's no pain
And I can't fake it

The rails are chattering
Somethings coming this way I know it
The rails are chattering
Somethings coming this way I know it

Wake this heart, if you can take it
Where there's no feeling there's no pain and I can't fake it
Wake this heart if you can take it
Where there's no feeling, there's no pain, where there's no feeling
there's no pain where there's no feeling where there's no pain
where there's no feeling

I can't read signs
I just took a ride on a Friday night

So any thoughts on what that's supposed to be on the cover? A delicious pastry? Some sort of ottoman? A vegemite sandwich?

Section of flattened fig newton? A tumbled licorice all-sort?

Makes Leonard Cohen sound upbeat in comparison {#Sleep}

Or Rolf Harris.
Reminds me of early Bowie

Boosting this to an EIGHT imho.

The singer lives in "la Creuse" one of the most depressing area from France. You can hear it on this song... The "la Creuse' touch"...

Meh.....
quite likeable imo

I really like this band.  Growing on me.  Just love the mellow sound.
Terrible!  If the idea was to make me depressed, it worked.
Bouh..

Tindersticks' first 4 records were masterpieces from start to finish. Fresh and deep and darkly poetic. Would love to hear some of these tracks here... they'd fit!

Anyone can make submissions:  Songs must be available for public listening via YouTube, Soundcloud, or Spotify. Keep in mind that if you include only a Spotify link, your submission may not be available to all potential listeners. YouTube & Soundcloud are more universally accessible.

Improved diction would help.  And why don't Songs to Commit Suicide By come with a warning label?

And with a second warning that says "Are you sure you want to commit suicide?"
Reminds me of "Why Can't We Live Together".  Not as good, of course.
nope
I agree : Stuart Staples sings like Droopy, but you know what? It makes me happy.

The singer sounds kind of like Aaron Neville.

Nick Cave called. He wants his style back!
Kind of cool - reminds me of "Yakety Sax" by Boots Randolph.

What is this nonsense? Poetry reading with a woodblock?

'finger snaps' at end of performance
Improved diction would help.  And why don't Songs to Commit Suicide By come with a warning label?
