So now I know
People want a story
Want an end with glory
And a wave of their flag

Well as far as I can tell
The homecoming heroes
Get put in the headlines
And back off they go

And I won't stand for anything more
Tried our hand even though we were poor
We've put in the time
Casting our lines off shore

Yes some things I dread
I duck into alleys
I avoid the rallies
It's a choice of my own

And I won't stand for anything more
Tried our hand even though we were poor
We've put in the time
Casting our lines off shore

And I'm sorry but I find no glory in that
I just want you off my back
And there's not a word in my head floating around
You won't pick your part and put down

And I won't stand for anything more
Tried our hand even though we were poor
We've put in the time
Casting our lines off shore
We've put in the time
Casting our lines

And I'm sorry but I find no glory in that
I just want you off my back
And there's not a word in my head floating around
You won't pick your part and put down

So get out of my head
Get out of my head
Get out of my head

What would happen if all the banjos in the world were gathered up in a giant pile and set ablaze? Im not suggesting we do it, to be clear,  or maybe I am.

Theyd build more...

It's like the old joke -
Q: What do you call an accordion/banjo/ukelele/viola in a bin?
A: A start.
If I even catch a whiff of "musical" in a song, I'm out. (Lakestreet Dive, lookin' at you all).

I smell it in this song.
Sounds like smashing pumpkins to me
At first glance, this album cover reminded me of the cover art for the Albert Brooks movie Lost in America with their heads buried in the sand.
Nice chords and melody but the drums and cymbals seem to be mixed disproportionately loud (IMO). Well, I guess they had their reasons.
Reminds me a little of BNL.

Still liking this a whole bunch—keep The Head (And The Heart) coming.

I'm Swede, and I normally add in forums for people not to confuse me with coming from Switzerland... {#Cool}

Not song related, but it got my attention so much I had to hop off my current work task and post
That's whatcha call a 7, right thar.
Like the Arrangement.....but the singing lines are ..well

garbage.

Sounds a bit like Mumford and Sons to me.

The opening piano riff starts out sounding a little like Aliotta-Haynes-Jeremiah "Lake Shore Drive" to me. {#Dance}
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz..............
Nice album opening number-- don't know if it will be a hit like "Shake", but it's gotta chance.

They don't seem that serious to me, but I like them anyway.

Call me a rebel, color me subversive, but I never bought into the whole concert thing and watching a bunch of wankers gyrate on stage and some drummer beating on the drums like some monkey.  My relationship with music is hearing a beautiful melody like this one... not some opera singer or some intellectual noodling....all mental masturbation if you ask me
just turning on RP and hearing the opener of my currently favourite album {#Dancingbanana} Thanks!
The lyrics aren't posted.  Here they are:

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy them but remember they are still maturing as both a musically creative and perfoming group.

This is only the second time I've heard this song and it's good enough to get me to stop what I was doing and come to the RP page to see if I rated it the first time.  I did.  A HIGH seven in my book.
I've liked the couple of songs from these guys, so I watched one of their live performances on TV (Austin City Limits?) a few months ago.  Hate to say, but it turned me off so completely I can hardly listen to them anymore.  The lead singer twitched his way through every song (that's the only word I can think of to describe it), and the other performers all had this herky jerky thing going the whole time.  It might not be a good reason to dislike a band, but I won't be able to tolerate them if I ever see them live again.

Another excellent album from The Head & The Heart.
