It's been about a year now since this song entered my consciousness...and a welcome inclusion it is! Being a man of few (spoken) words, I was able to use this 5:37 track to speak volumes to my loved ones during a particularly low time...and it shined for sure! 10 rated and Long Live RP!!

after listening to a bunch of the tracks on this disc on various places on the web, I found a used cd in the UK... and it wasn't cheap. But I bought it anyways, a good move on my part. The vocals are so smooth, and the beats on these tracks are sooo solid - sort of like a love child of Shriekback and Chemical Brothers.

Half of the talent of Syntax is from a band called Fluke who have a very similar sound. Fluke have a large and amazingly good back catalogue. . . here

No hay problemo. I would never suggest dubbing Almodovar, who I love. I have seen all his movies. It would not make sense to dub him really. Let me elaborate. I highly recommend Michael Haneke, the Austrian director. I've seen all his movies except one, Funny Games, which has two versions, both written and directed by him. The same script in fact, but one version he made in English, which I saw, but I have not seen the other version. A true masterpiece in my humble opinion. My point was that if I have a choice, I prefer to watch in my own language without subtitles. I don't like dubbing.
Funny Games is horrifying... isn't it? I started the foreign language version and ended up fast forwarding through the last 2/3 because it just got too sadistic

I somewhat disagree with your disagreement. I'd rather read subtitles. It's distracting to see the mouth speaking French, German or something else, but hear the language of English. It's watching dialogue out of sync with the lip movement. Part of the context of a foreign film in its original language is the nuance and inflection of the words. The German of Das Boot dubbed in English? Absolutely nein. The lovely French of Quatre Cent Coups or the Japanese of Rashomon washed out by a voice actor reading a script? No way. The rapid fire Spanish of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown lost in translation? No, gracias. As for the visuals of a film being the most important thing, yes, for the most part. But context and subtext reign and in some movies that is not necessarily more conveyed by action than by what people say to each other and how they say it in the original, even if the subtitles abridge the specific words. The enjoyment is not hindered but often enhanced by just hearing the language.

I have a few objections to this. I am a film buff, so I am not one of those illiterate people you cite. When you read subtitles in any film, you are really reading watered down text meant for ease in reading, and to allow the viewer to keep up with the film and still watch it. I generally disagree with you here. Watching text is not the same as watching a movie, and we lose too much by doing this. It's better than not watching the film at all, but there is nothing wrong with wanting to see the actors' expressions while speaking, among other aspects of the viewing experience. This is often much more important than the dialogue. The visuals of a film are the really important thing. This is hindered when reading subtitles.

Yep. If they give you subtitles you miss some of the facial expressions but preserve the emotion in the actors' vocalizations. If they dub English over the native tongue you preserve the facial expressions but the inevitable mismatch between the visual and the aural can make a great performance seem cheesy.
And then sometimes reading the subtitles helps conceal production or performance flaws.
Of those trade-offs I'll usually take the subtitles, if I have choice...
