I'm in a little bit of trouble
And I'm in real deep
From the beginning to the end
He was no more than a friend to me
The thought is makin' me hazy
I think I better sit down
Cause like the sweetest serenade
Bet he knows he's got it made with me
Twisting round on a carousel
This speeds' too much to stop
One second I'm thinkin' I'm feeling the lust
And then I feel a lie
Ooh that man is like a flame
And ooh that man plays me like a game
My only sin is I can't win
Ooh I wanna love that man
Ooh that man is on my list
And ooh that man I wanna kiss
My only sin is I can't win
Ooh I wanna love that man
Now it's like I'm on a mission
Headed everywhere
And if it takes a little long
And it feels a little wrong, who cares?
My baby fits the description
And does it easily
A little Gable, some Astaire
When he dances I can hardly breathe
Someone call a doctor
Need some help to rescue me
One second I'm thinkin' I must be lost
And he keeps on findin' me
Ooh that man is like a flame
And ooh that man plays me like a game
My only sin is I can't win
Ooh I wanna love that man
Ooh that man is on my list
And ooh that man I wanna kiss

I bet your design is derivative of something, even if you aren't conscious of it. You don't exist in a vacuum, after all.
Also, this song is fun. Not every song needs to be a startlingly new concept wrapped in a never-before-seen package, and thank goodness for that, because we'd only have maybe a dozen songs were that so!
No shit! Very well put!

This song may have been derived from swing, but it doesn't actually swing at all, it's straight time. I met my partner learning to swing dance, and he plays in a Big Band.. That said, I enjoy this and find it toe-tapping, even if it's no good for swingouts and fast lindy.
Swing is OK but...
it's Friday afternoon.

I'm Dutch, so I shouldn't say this, but Caro is being overplayed on RP. Too poppy, and being played on mainstream radio so much already, that I really don't need any more of it on RP.

So many grumpy comments about this fun song. I never knew there were so many miserable people out there who just can't stand being happy. This lady has a good voice and her songs are fun, not for listening to all day maybe, but a good antidote to modern life. Well done Bill, I give it 9.

Like the song itself. She just does do it for me though, needs to be a lot more sultry and evocative.
starts off sounding like a pesky brat tooting a duck call ...

And I want to hear this again as much as I want to hear Doop again!
Excellent choice Bill. Please Keep playing more Cotton club music. Love your list of diverse music... Keeps Radio Paradise so interesting .

NOVELTY song?!?!?! Beg pardon, sir, but once upon a time this style was Top 40 popular. So was Brahms, so I suppose any new music that sounds like a lullaby is a novelty.
Not just you, midigitguy, but all y'all naysayers might want to expand your horizons.
Sheesh. And I still think it's Johnny Depp's voice.
