I agree fredriley. But they can accompany those lyrics with music that is not the same shit in different songs. The good or great mainstream bands that have accomplished that outnumber those that did not. In other words, some musical innovation and energy would seriously help their overall appeal. After a certain point, I don't give a fuck what they're singing about if the music is trite, canned and repetitive. That kills whatever they're singing about.
It's surprising to me that Arcade Fire's music has such divisive comments on RP. I only really became exposed to them recently on RP and think they're pretty solid. I'm not really getting the pretentious angle, but maybe that came from from reactions to music critics or overplay when the songs first came out?

Great segue from this song to CSN&Y's "Country Girl"—the similarities between the songs are obvious. This kind of musical overlap keeps the older songs fresh and relevant and makes older listeners appreciate the newer songs.

Best album of the year (so far). So many good songs. Heard the album dozens of times and still haven't get tired of it (like 95% of stuff nowadays).
I do believe this is at least the third song I've heard from this album that I like! RP RULES
