In the burning daze
Of unnatural light
I took a long drive
Into the evening

On the barracks road
Past the generals' eyes
Down to the seawall
Where the waves stand by

The enormous lull
Then a roar in the sky
And then the searchlights
Over the airfield

And over the ocean winging low
I saw the first wave
And the flares that fall
Like fireflies on the islands

In the boom and swell
From the waves to the heights
Reverberations
Of our old lives

Like a golden bell
That would ring through the night
And then the front moves
And we raise our eyes
In the silence of the islands

Nice to hear some Shearwater on here. An excellent CD, there's plenty more like this on it.
Loving this music today!

Well it's 08:15 here in Holland and i'm just home from the night shift. I think I'll join you. {#Yawn} 4.

Any band inspired to write an album's worth of songs dedicated to the Galapagos Islands and Charles Darwin gets my vote just for nobility; that the songs are also appealing to me just makes it that much better. More listenings required. Full disclaimer: I am an evolutionary biologist by day.

Three sheets to the wind?
