I want in like a substitute
I've been working awful hard for you
But you don't say you just hold your breath
So I can't touch what I haven't yet

She's a cold one and it hurts me so
It's a dark path and a heck of a toll
And she could kill me just like she did before

We'd be so free
Happy alone
Sharing a smile
So far from home

Pushing and a pulling weight
It's the hard part but the true love way
Girl you're wanted like a wanted man
With your smart mouth and your killer hand

We could both share all that I have made
For a young man, it's a heck of a wage
And I feel crazy when I see your face

'Cause we'd be so free
[[Kings Of Leon:Happy Alone|Happy alone]]
Sharing a smile
So far from home

And we would laugh
Laugh till we cried
Making up songs
You're making me lie

And people say our babies are walking this town
And people say our babies are walking this town
And people say our babies they're just wandering around
And people say our babies they're walking

We'd be so free
Happy alone
Sharing a smile
So far from home

And we would laugh
Laugh till we cried
Making up songs
You're making me lie
Happy alone

yeah, clearly  this does not work.
Terrible.

Nice to have these guys back in the rotation.

You wrote that back in 2008. Now this track is getting airplay in 2019. It's like the orbital return of the remotest planet in the Solar System...

Dont worry about it, they are just old, and cant adapt to new good music

Funny, people either love 'em or hate them... I'm of the latter opinion, they sound like a bad garage band
Kings! Excellent.
Nice to have these guys back in the rotation.

These guys really grow on you. I wasn't a huge fan at first listen, but I like it more every time I hear it.
Ditto! I love them now, and going to try to stick around for Monday at Sasquatch to catch them.
Another band way above most. Some of the best music I've heard in my 42 years on this planet.
Oh, its them again... Next channel.

WTF is this crap?!!!!!
WTF - this is the exact same drumbeat as their other song. . .Weak!
although this is not one of their "shinning stars," this album is quite nice. I saw them over the summer and have been intruiged ever since.

well, i wouldn't want to listen to this all day - but it's refreshing. i think his voice is the best part of the music.
This song just sorta hangs suspended ready to take off and jump after a cool bridge or chorus but it never does. It's the drumming, even at the end just sorta plodding along.

I don't really care for his voice much. I do what I can to ignore these songs when they come on. It's not awful... it's just not good.
Ok, too many negative comments in a row. So for the records, I like it. Good stuff. Its nice to hear a voice with distinct characteristics. Keeps it interesting.

I wonder if the fact that I like Randy Newman and My Morning Jacket has anything to do with me liking this band too.
No. I like Randy Newman and MMJ. This guy kind of sounds like Bob Goldwaithe (sp?), if he were a singer. His voice just rubs me the wrong way. Or I could be inconsistant.
Huh, I really fail to hear the interest.
Sorry, one Los Lobos is more than enough...
His voice is really eating my brain now...does he get one of his bro's to stand on his neck or something?
I'd recognize that annoyance anywhere....
Well this song is every bit as annoying as "Knocked Up". At least they're consistant...

So far, everything I've heard from KOL reminds of a very creepy episode of X-Files. The one about the extremely in-bred family of mutants.
they are from tennessee..so I guess it is pretty much the same thing.......wait is that a banjo off in the distance?
Pipe this music into Abu Grabe oh that's right we aren't suppose to torture anyone anymore and frankly this band would count

This sounds suspiciously like a blurb in a magazine.

Monotonous
I dunno, I liked "Knocked Up" from the beginning, maybe this will grow on me.

It doesn't rock - there's not much to like - I like the guys voice but this makes me long to hear Molly's Chambers again
No problem, my loathing is picking up your slack. meydele wrote:

really surprised by the low rating... Before my surprise wore off, I thought, "I bet Elvis Costello's songs have higher ratings than KoL." Sadly, I found that I was correct on that... seems that a lot of RP listeners are very short-sighted. I hope we hear more KoL on RP.
Nah, It's just going to take a little more time for everyone to come around. It literally took 5 listens of Knocked Up for me to "get it". There's finally something new to listen folks!
Well I can happily say, I like this band and this CD is quite nice

Caleb Followell *always* sounds like this. To add to his charm, he's pretty full of himself. It's a great rockstar holier than though combo. Despite all of that, it's a great band for me. adu wrote:
Did they give the mic to a roady just for giggles? Hopefully such poor decision making was accompanied by drunken depraved orgies in some sleezy roadside dive, or I'd have to consider this song a complete loss.
Vocally reminiscent of Graham Parker at times....

I really like this CD...it's the "Kings" 3rd CD and I think it is the best. However I recommend buying all 3!
