Oh honey don't you do that thing
Oh honey don't you do that thing to me, that thing to me
Oh don't you do that thing to me
Please don't do that thing you do to me
Oh honey don't you do sing to me
Oh honey to sing like that to me, like that to me
Oh don't you sing like that to me
Please don't sing all dark and low to me
Oh honey don't you smile at me
Oh honey don't you smile that way at me, that way at me
Oh don't you smile that way at me
Please don't smile that wayward smile at me
Oh honey don't you come for me
Oh honey don't you do come 'round here for me, 'round here for me
' Cause I just might fall for you
And that would be a damn fool thing to do
Oh honey don't you do that thing to me, that thing to me
Oh don't you do that thing to me
Please don't do that thing you do to me
Oh honey don't you do sing to me
Oh honey to sing like that to me, like that to me

I get the repetitive comment but this would be great music for Fargo or a David Lynch movie. I like it.
Where did they find John Bonham's drums? And the stairwell to put them at the bottom of?

Interesting how we all respond differently to the same song. I was just picturing why she may have been so angry at the man and why she knows falling for him is a "damn fool" thing to do. Guess I've known too many ladies who have partners who are not their equal.
My grandmother was fond of volunteering "when love lights on a cow patty" to explain this phenomenon.

I feel sorry for her boyfriend/husband.

Sounds like Bonham or Moon on the drums
When somebody asks what kind of music I like, I always say I like just about everything. But in truth I guess I'm pretty jaded, and not much I hear really moves me. This song for me is a 10.

I heard the Audreys 8 -10 years ago on trip to Sydney I bought the CD, Nice to see they have more recordings. Minor key seems to make them sad songs but we all need those once in a while.
First time hearing it & I'm liking it.
Gets hotter every time. Thanks Mr & Mrs G.

I hate to... ooops. Let me rephrase: I generally write comments about the songs I like rather than dislike.
I also believe that the first time one hears a song - the mood one's in - will set the way one hears it the following times...
The first time I heard this one, I really couldn't understand what they were trying to do. I was incredibly irritated/frustrated, and I didn't want to express such negative feelings... So no comment, because it would have been really dark.
Now I just heard "Oh honey" again, on BETTER speakers; first time was on the speaker of my smartphone (yeah I know... but I use it to listen to RP in bed when I'm too lazy to get up to turn on my sound system and my laptop is not at hand).
When I recognized the song, I immediately thought NO, not that THING again, feeling like conveying this through a comment. I thought I would look first what others had said about it, and at that time, the three, four, five last comments where all extremely enthusiastic, which made me think twice... which I was already doing, because the song was going on in the meantime, and I was a little surprised as I didn't feel that exasperation from the first hearing, and instead found myself liking what I heard.
That was because I suddenly was able to hear all that was missing before, meaning pretty much everything except for the voice; the first time I only heard the melody and the words... Not even the quatity of the voice quite carried over.
Now I've heard the WHOLE song. The great drums, the whole ambiance...
So this goes from no rating at all to 7 !
Don't listen to music through your phones, people, it's just murder!

I don't see "happy clappy" as the only alternative to restraining oneself from declaring that a song sucks or the singer can't sing, or the other angry or derogatory declarations of negative opinions. What is the contribution of pissing in the champagne bowl? Good solid critiques? Simple declarations that you don't like this band or that song? Fine - that is good basic opinion sharing, and why this forum exists. Otherwise, why not let the musicians play without having to foul their efforts? They are a treasure, as is this station. I agree that there are many gems in these posts. Very informative, often emotive, heartfelt responses - just the thing that music can do to us.

You'd miss the occasional gem of a post, but on the whole posts are of the 'it sucks'/'it rocks' variety.
I rather like this effort, and I wouldn't mind having a go at the "thang" she doesn't want her honey to do to her :o)
Hey- anybody know how to include the complete thread when replying? I am only getting the last post. Thanks.
another song that, thanks to RP, is on constant rotation at my house

I've been listening to RP for a few years now, and the impression I get is that positive and negative comments usually balance each other out overall, even if they're more one direction than the other for particular songs. This board is for the posting of any comments, not just for happy-clappy positivist ones. You don't like the negative comments, fine, don't bother looking at the board, just listen to the music. This is a great site/station. The incessant carping is — not.

That appears to be a bird's nest he's holding.

For some reason, I get the impression she doesn't want Honey to do various things to her..... maybe if she repeated it a few hundred more times, Honey would listen to her.
