Amazingly, this song gets worse every time it is played... I can't wrap my head around the physics of that phenomenon, but it is occurring... Actually could be a great song if it were just an instrumental piece, but seriously the lyrics and vocals are disgraceful... Courtney Love could write a better song if she were still alive... I mean, come one... really come on Lucinda, and then shut up
Second that.
...is something bothering lucinda today?..
Lucinda kicks ass. The more pissed she is, the better she sounds.
i really like this song. she's probably just angry because he really did get her off, maybe even every time. oh the resentment!

Yep, love died. However, Courtney Love is still with us.
wow impressive like the change up Bill - lucinda and tom - Love it~
thought this was Cortney Love (voice only) when I walked by my desk...good song.
Bleh. 2 --> 1 This really does get worse by the listen. Plus the 'Come On' pun is beyond juvenile. I hear she's a good singer though... this just ain't doing it for me.
C'MON!

I'm with you on this one, SPACEDOG! Lucinda kicks ass.
Hell hath no fury? Ha! Better to have loved and lost. I trust the poor unfortunate for whom this was written has counted his/her? blessings.

I like Lucinda's music, but I agree with some of the previous comments, this song is not that great. I give Lucinda an 8, but this song gets a 6.
did she say something about lighting her fart?

As far as all the "I had sex with a guy but did not achieve orgasm songs" goes, I think this is one of the better ones. (should be mad) Which reminds me of the joke... chicken and egg are in bed... chicken has a big smile and is smoking a cigarette... egg is all grumpy and says, "Well, I guess we now know the answer to that question!"
I like that joke
wow...I think I'm starting to like her.
Come on... quit playing this creepy song.
yawn

I loved Lucinda's Car Wheels but this song just seems like she's trying too hard....

I just can't get into Lucinda. I mean, geez....sorry, Lucinda, that this guy didn't get you off. But do I really need to hear your badly written, horribly sung drivel over it? Some things I just really don't need to know. She just always sounds like a spurned, bitter, aging bar-fly to me. Not impressed.
Yeah, there is that, but I still kinda like her trashy, tough bitch attitude. I give this an 8.

Me neither.
Hmm. Poor effort from Ms Williams on this one.
Here she is.

i agree - i love this entire cd....
You didn't even make me Come On!

I would.
Classic Farfisa sound on that electric keyboard. =)
Out F****** Standing. Come on indeed.

My first time turning the volume all the way off too. What an awful voice; not to mention I find this cut lyrically, and musically dry.
I totally agree. Well said.
Damn, that is hot.
Bill, you should play this song after the skeeviest, most sexist Stones you've got in the library, like say, "Under My Thumb," "Brown Sugar," or "Stray Cat Blues."
Lucinda rawks!!!
I like it. Kind of cool. Don't know why everyone despises it so much.

Wow, bitter chick. Nasty, irritating song. 1/10!
This is not Joy. The "didn't even make me come" lyrics seem cheap. But it still rocks. 6.

Some Lucinda songs are good. Some are repetitive to the point of grating. This is one of those.
I like Lucinda and I think this song really rocks. Yep, she's mad as hell...
I wouldn't say Skanky, but almost.
Don't think I've ever downgraded a RP song from 5 to 2, but this certainly warranted it. Twice in three days is just too much.
This cut reminds me of The Pretenders for some reason. Please don't stop playing Lucinda - sure stirs up some interesting conversation! I guess you can't sit on the fence w. Lucinda either you love her or you really don't.

Well yah, what you say is true, but often heartbreak (a nicer word for whining) makes for great music, and has been since the birth of the blues. Emotional maturity is all well and good, but doesn't necessarily make for good music (imagine Tony Robbins writing and singing songs - ack!).
Indeed. The original comment is totally right on, as far as if you expect others to make you happy you're doomed to be dissapointed at best. But, get real! I'm trying my best to live an aware, responsible, emotionally mature life....but I still blame +get pissed at others sometimes. It's beautiful to have all the human experiences, including the unenlightened ones, reflected in music and lyrics. In any case, I find Lucida Williams' voice really annoying. She sounds like a trainwreck.
I am a huge LW fan, but I'm concerned that the hard life has finally trashed what fifteen years ago was a sweet voice. One can follow the progress album by album of a voice gone bad. Yes, her songwriting remains stellar....but, the peformances are often simpy annoying.

WTF?? Put Lucinda next to Patsy, and you'll realize what an absolute hack Lucinda is. God, she's awful folks. I couldn't believe it when even my wife bought her CD. I just go fishing or hiking anytime she plays it.
I didn't think there would be ANY song that would make me turn off RP, but this one did it. Truly AWFUL.

Actually, I think Tone Deaf IS Tony Robbins, given the self-righteous tone of his comment!
This is the best album by Lucinda I've heard in a while. I LOVE this song. Totally describes how I feel about a douche bag who hurt me badly. I love to sing along - it's healing! I especially love the last verse! Every word of this song I could have written and not only this song. Anyone who can't relate has obviously never loved and been hurt. Anyone with feelings can relate to these songs. Her lyrics sum it up perfectly!!
Come on is right!

I've no doubt there are many people that might love the lyrics of this song. However, for me personally, people whining about how other people failed to make them happy are really annoying. If the foundation of your happiness is other people, you have set yourself up for a miserable existence... I meet far too many people carrying needless emotional baggage because they are bitter about other people having failed them in one way or another. Rather than take responsibility for themselves, they choose instead to blame others. If this chick is 50 and hasn't figured that out... Sad... really sad...
You are suggesting she needs a vibrator?
ouch

I thought this was Courtney Love at the start as well. That's no compliment. I just really can't get into any Lucinda Williams stuff. I start listening with an open mind, but I always end up thinking "she can't be serious about this."
definitely trying too hard
Gee...I wonder where she wants him to take her?

Picasso, Gehry and Bernstein were all brilliant and geniuses... Lucinda Williams is far from brilliant or genius... thats a pretty lame comparison, "Aud"

not terrible, but sounds like she is trying to hard to be cool and tough. Its like she still thinks its 1975. Isnt she like, over 50 years old now? I dont really know when this album came out... this is just my immediate reaction... at first i thought it was courtney love but then I thought maybe she was dead or something but Lucinda - she needs to retire.
You must be kidding, this is great. Rock on Lucinda
Not my favorite Lucinda by a country mile, but better than no Lucinda at all.

Sounds like Lucinda and Alannis may have dated the same guy.

Love Lucinda, this a good cut, but this album in general grated on my nerves

Youngish :). That's the good news. But the voice... She sure sounds like "Llllucinda Willliams". Hate the pronouncement of the lyrics. Blagh :P
Guitar is very Neilish; Farfisa is very Elvish (Declan MacManus).
