Rockin' Rocker
Rockin' Rocker from Zion I.C.
We're ready ready ready, ready to rock
We are the rockers from Zion Ivory Coast
We're ready ready ready, ready to rock

We sayin'

Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rock
Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rasta
Coco, Coco now, Cocody Rock
Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rasta

Somebody, somebody is working out the sound system
(The sound system)
Say Jah Jah rythm
(Jah Jah rythm)
We movin through space and time
Brother Tom fear
Ain't got nothin', he's beatin' down the bass line
Why don't you get on board the Zion Express

We sayin'

Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rock
Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rasta
Coco, Coco now, Cocody Rock
Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rasta

Rockin' in, rockin' out
Rockin' in, rockin' out
We're gonna rock you
In the night, in the day
We bound to rock your soul
We positively movin up - oh
Weavin' Jah time
No matter what you say or do
Jah bound to rock you down
That's why we're sayin'

Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rock
Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rasta
Coco, Coco now, Cocody Rock
Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rasta

Rockin' in, rockin' out
Rockin' in, rockin' out
We're gonna rock you
In the night, in the day
We bound to rock your soul
We positively movin up - oh
Weavin' Jah time
No matter what you say or do
Jah bound to rock you down
That's why we're sayin'

Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rock
Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rasta
Coco, Coco now, Cocody Rock
Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rasta

Coco, Coco now, Cocody Rock
Coco, Coco, is Cocody Rasta

It means a year, so I guess the rough translation of this song would be 'a penis year', which 2024 is very much of one

Since no had posted any info on this dood yet... Hailing from the Cote d'Ivoire, Alpha Blondy is among the world's most popular reggae artists. With his 12-piece band Solar System, Blondy offers a reggae beat with a distinctive African cast. Calling himself an African Rasta, Blondy creates Jah-centered anthems promoting morality, love, peace and social consciousness. With a range that moves from sensitivity to rage over injustice, much of Blondy's music empathizes with the impoverished and those on society's fringe. Blondy is also a staunch supporter of African unity and to this end, he sings to Moslem audiencess in Hebrew and sings in Arabic to Israelis. Some of his best known songs include "Cocody Rock," "Jerusalem" and "Apartheid Is Nazism." He was born a member of the Jula tribe in Dimbokoro and named Seydou Kone after his grandfather. His grandmother Cherie Coco raised him. He was always a rebellious child and for this, Coco named him "Blondy," her unique pronunciation of the word "bandit."... Kinda like it!

Thank You for the info!

Except that in Slovak language, a word very similar to "cocody" means "prick, penis". The song would be banned in this country.

Too funny!

And what does "rock" mean in Slovak?
Now, that's one Zionist I have nothing against!
Ugh. A prime example of how bad Reggae was after Marley's early departure. Too much try-to-sound-like-Bob, too little soul. That pre-Marley, Harder They Come-era, heavily R&B influenced, British Ska-influencing Reggae sound just never got another shot. Pity.
Not bad but toooo loooooong..
Have nothing against reggae, but this song is just lame.

I looooooove Alpha Blondy.
How fun....lov'it.....
Interminable.
Cool track - The refrain makes me think of Job's taunting dance on Arrested Development.
It's not that bad actually.
