Unpopular? Not in Germany! In every po-dunk down- and even in bigger cities- some club hosts a Depeche Mode night at least once a month, and people turn out in droves for it. And I'm not just talking the old-timers. There are college kids and younger there. Both their older and newer stuff is really popular in Europe.
Americans seem to be stuck in a rut when it comes to music, either they are looking for vapid crap like Country music, Fall out Boy, or Britney Spears, or they are super elitist and only like bands from indie labels. No in-between anymore.

I hope I never get used to this kind of pain.
Right. Go listen to your Britney Spears then. This song is 10/10.

Good golly, Depeche Mode's newest seems to be unpopular these days. I guess all those fans are all grown up.

What are the G's? I'm Italian and I don't get all your "smart" remarks.
Probably the Goldsmiths. I.e. Bill and Rebecca.
ModGoth. Never much on Depeche Mode, but this is good clean crisp clear dark over the top angst-driven self-obsession.

There is NOT. It blows...big time. Way too electronic and with lyrics that sound like a sixth grader wrote them! Gonna sell it back on eBay or sumpin....I am so disappointed in them. Time for them to retire, I guess. I am really surprised the G's can tolerate this.
What do you seek in music? It all depends on that. The song is probably among the finest they produced in their whole career and it's likely to become the next single. What are the G's? I'm Italian and I don't get all your "smart" remarks.

Drive? I'd call it drone. Hope there's better on this disc.

Good golly, Depeche Mode's newest seems to be unpopular these days. I guess all those fans are all grown up. Hard too be introspective and moody when you got two mortages and a SUV payment to make. I like it, sound like well.. Depeche Mode.
I hope I never get used to this kind of pain.

Prepare to be disappointed.

Me too, pdhski. I've liked DM for many years, but their last album (or two) have been ho-hum.... I recently got seats at their show in November here in the Bay Area (floor!) and am hoping they do their old stuff up to Songs of Faith & Devotion..... I gave this song a 4 or a 5.....
Drive? I'd call it drone. Hope there's better on this disc.
This song does have a drive behind it, but ultimately falls flat.
