All of the ladies attending the ball
Are requested to gaze
In the faces found on the dance cards
Please then remember and don't get too close
To one special one
He will take your defenses and run

So we change partners
Time to change partners
You must change partners
Again

This is how most of our ladies grew up
At the country club dances
They learned how to handle the boys
Gently but firmly, they learned to say no
There were four more young men
Who were waiting in the color and the noise

So we change partners
Time to change partners
You must change partners
Again

All of the ladies attending the ball
Are requested to gaze
In the faces found on the dance cards
Please then remember and follow your list
'Cause the dear things get hurt
And the broken hearts make you feel hard

So we change partners
Time to change partners
You must change partners
Again

The verse is very similar to "The Eagle and the Hawk" by John Denver....
The poetry in these lyrics is why I love Steve Stills.  Great song, great album.

Think I'll invite him to my housewarming party next week ... kinda funny that he hasn't yet needed a liver transplant.
this is one of the few Stephen Stills songs that I really enjoy
I smell a whiff of the Little River Band here.
Let the beatings begin!

I wore out a few of his and his buddies albums back in the day!
A good tune from a GREAT album.

Changing partners is easy when you're young; not so when you're older and have to hire attorneys.

wow. this is wierd. This song came up on my "song shuffle" on my ipod last night! This is ironic, as I have gone several years without hearing this song, and now I hear it twice in 24 hours! Thanks RP!
probably a sign!

While this is good, Manassas is one of my all-time favorites..I'd like to hear anything off of that album!
That first Manassas album (especially side one, for all of you fellow fogies who can remember vinyl) was great. Their second album totally barfed imo. But there's a reason - that's when Stills was supposedly going through drug rehab.
I love this tune! And the lyrics: that's always my opinion!

Can I see Crosby Nash and Young hiding in his sideburns? I'm liking the music today on rp!
This song makes me feel happy!
