When I first came to this island
that I called by own name
I was happy in this fortress,
in my exile I remained
But the hours grew so empty
and the ocean sent her waves
In the figure of a woman
and she pulled me out to sea
[Chorus]
When you come down to take me home
send my soul away
When you come round you'll make me whole
send my soul away
On the altar of a sunrise
was a wedding in the waves
And inside her shown a young light
from her labor I was saved
Though I've traveled long in darkness
in her harvest I'm embraced
[Chorus]
When you come down to take me home
send my soul away
When you come round you'll make me whole
send my soul away
Now the spires and the gables
grow in orchards to the sky
And the blessings on my table
multiply and divide
[Chorus]
When you come down to take me home
send my soul away
Yeah when you come round you'll make me whole
send my soul away
Yeah when you come down to take me home
when you come round you'll make me whole
Yeah when you come round to take me home
Send my soul away
send my soul away
Send my soul away
send my soul away

GOOD TUNE! Thanx RP!
seems like william/alanna enjoys playing audioslave before or after soundgarden in many of his mixes. yes, this one had 2 songs by other artists in between, but still a pattern. i've noticed this with other bands that have members in 2 different bands. i see you, bill/alanna clever as always.

Sounds about right. Not that that's a bad thing.

Please, please RP, I should be asleep (5.28am in Aus), waaay too much excitement at this time of day, thank you for an amazing playlist for the past hour. Cheers.

sounds more like tremolo picking than shredding to me."Critics first described Audioslave as a combination of Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine"

The screaming guitar sounds like a sick phaser from Star Trek set on 'liquify'. A well-deserved 3.
Not to be a total Star Trek geek, but it actually sounds like the original transporter all distorted.... I give it a 7....
Awww hell I heard the star-trek phaser noise - but ya know the transporter made the same kinda wobble-noise when first fired up.
A bunch of mindless, derivative noise.
How come RP plays this but no Rage Against the Machine???
Not a huge fan, but Chris Cornell has a rock god voice.
I totally agree. This album is good front to back. Some gems, some just OK tracks, but pretty solid as a whole.
This tune rocks with a bit of funk for flavour. It's great played loud.

Thanks for the shot of audio espresso. I'm a slave to the rock.
I was curious to hear some of this CD... didn't think it'd be here on RP! Nice surprise... and I'm likin the song.

This cd is awesome, IMO!
Straight OUT of hell... thank you, may I have another...
this rhythm has a melody. UFR. Keep the beat going, fuck the last few songs, they are devoid of complications.
sounds like tom's been listening to some steve vai lately.

love tom's guitar, haven't heard anything off this yet (new album)
bill can you turn this up a little?
It was the screaming guitar that turned a potential 5 into the 3 it deserves. Yuck.

First post as in, YOUR first post, or the first post for this song? 'Cause that was me :-)

I liked Cornell's voice in Soundgarden and it is still a great voice for rock. Loved the first album, but it seems there could be more Rage sound.

10 years ago I would have loved this......but now, "YAWN"....

Awesome...first track I've heard that genuinely sounds like a blend of Rage Against the Machine and Sound Garden.
