Not sure if anybody mentioned or noticed this in previous comments but the intro voice sounds a lot like John Noble from Denethor (LOTR)/Walter Bishop (Fringe) fame.
I was curious, so I went down this rabbit hole. It's from the end of the previous song on the album, (Life In The Rain by Quantic) which fades into this song. It's a sample of Ken Nordine from the piece "Lemming". And apparently "word jazz" is a thing.
Maybe there are some people who can't dance to this...or anything,

me too, or the one with the gals shimmying on the beach!
i could listen to this on repeat all day.
Same here! EXCELLENT TUNE!! Thanx RP!
All composers are programmers. In the early days, methods of programming (notation) were primitive, and so were the results.
With modern technology, composers can get machines to play their programs instead of only people, which provides all sorts of benefits.
Some people don't like the way some machines play, but every day we're getting better machines and better programming methods.
Very well stated!

they've got it!
Is that John Noble's voice I hear in the intro?
I think it's Ken Nordine.
I come looking for this GIF every time I hear this song.

In these shoes?
I don't think so
Horribly distorted highs. Those cymbals are like icepicks in the ear.
Turn it down.
This sounds a lot like something from Stéphane Pompougnac on his Hôtel Costes series.
That's because it is . . . apologies if I just missed the point, but I really like the vibe emitting from this track, and had to dig a a fair amount to find a copy of the track to buy; your ID will assist any other searchers. pxd

I think I'm going to bump my rating up +1 to 8 just because of this gif

Amazing the crap you can create with a computer and call it an opinion.
Hey, come on now. People who don't like something have just as valid a right to post as the 30th person to post some version of "this is great!" No need to go low here.

I disagree, watch the PBS documentary "Soundbreaking". The rise of technology has allowed a lot more people to access music creation in non-traditional ways. Go to YouTube and check out Mike Love "Permanent Holiday" or watch Zoe Keating "Escape Artist" and see how they both use looping to create a complicated new sound. It's a hybrid of tech and traditional sit down musical creation.
This track, which is completely artificially created, is the logical extension of technology in music. It has a nice latin jazz inspiration and is easy on the ears and toe tapping. I may not seek it out on a day to day basis, but it is paving the way for further creativity.
Cheers!
Word Jazz - Ken was amazing.
Anybody remember "Kookie, Kookie, Lend Me Your Comb"?
Perhaps it's better not to... ;-)

So locomotively Latin?
A Monday, a Monday is very, very good!
Or you can kiss me on a Tuesday;
A Tuesday, a Tuesday, in fact I wish you would."

Is it fading out yet? No?

There I stood, a long-stemmed glass in my hand propped against the pulpit of a yacht in St Tropez at the turn of the Century, listening to this very track, imagining some loose limbed Bond blonde leaning on my arm, when my brother in law asked whether I wasn't neglecting my wife.
Walter Mitty dreams crashing around my feet, I returned to the true love of my life. Never left. And it's no longer Feb 14th.
A post of coolness — deserves a bump.

As if it wasn't danceable.

Try listening to this at Café del Mar - Sant Antoni Capmany - or at Cala d'es Comte. It acquires another dimension :-)
Kirsty MacColl - In These Shoes? Great tune.
Whatever happened to that song? I haven't heard it in a long time!

Absolutely. Brilliant, for some reason.
I dig it. Kinda kookie, man.
I got excited to hear this song on RP just now, as it's a favorite of mine, but then I realized that RP is where I heard the song in the first place!
May he rest in peace.

Hilton Head Island loves this song.
Makes me want to belly dance. Huh?
Seconded! But I do wonder who or what they are shooting at?
Someone way down below suggested the people on the cover were shooting at illegal immigrants at the Texan border, but I hope that is not the case.
New cover art added: so much for that spirited discussion. Still a good tune, however.
The Apple (Big Life, 1991)
Duende (Other Records, 1998)
A Man Called Adam: Collected Works Volume One (2010, Other Records)
A Man Called Adam: Collected Works Volume Two (2010, Other Records)
I hope they can find it in their hearts to give us a few more great albums! Let them know that you agree with me if you want too! =)

Not to worry, nothing on the Texas border has that much elevation or greenery.
Perhaps Montana...
I would say its more likely somewhere in the South!

With a bit of PeeWee Herman.
I have no explanation for why I really like this song, but I do...I just do. Vin Scelsa would definitely play this.
Most of you summed it up for me already!
The shots mostly come from the other direction, Darkmatter. Cool little techno/chill/nostalgia/lounge piece.
Very Kruder & Dorfmeister-ish.. I like it !
