I got a bag all packed, I got a ticket for the train
Let's go to New Orleans and back again
I got a bottle of tequila, baby, who needs friends
Got a bottle of tequila, baby, who needs friends
I got a hundred miles of desert
Got a head of fresh air
And I know a hundred games of solitaire
I got nothin' to do and I got nothin' to lose
I can go anywhere with anyone I choose
Got a dog named Lucky and a hundred dollars in my shoe
Yeah, I am on my way from here to there
And I know a hundred games of solitaire
Well, I don't know where I'll wind up tonight
Any place with a bar and a bathtub's all right
I got a burnin' yearnin' for some new sounds and smells and sights
And if I never see your face again, well, I don't care
'Cause I know a hundred games of solitaire
Let's go to New Orleans and back again

Verging on being so boring, I just might have to get the cards out.

like it alot..but can we here something older sometime...perhaps off of dark adapted eye. i have and love this album.. rock on cheese doodle!!!
You're confused little one. Dark Adapted Eye is from Danielle Dax. A superb album that never got any real play in the US, and a bit of a stretch for RP thinks I.
Oh heck you got me playing "just one round" of Spider Solitaire. I have way too much to do to get stuck on that. Ok one more time.

Did she say, "I have a dog named lucky"? Me too!

Damn addicting game.
I agree, but that's Free Cell.
Huh. Just checked to see if this was T. Rex. Not that that's a bad thing. . . .
Damn addicting game.
I wanna know how she got the money into her pocket with that dog in there.
Yeah! i LIKE it.
concrete blond absolutly rocks!!!!
Agreed - Probably Will, Everybody Knows, The Ship Song, Les Coeurs Jumeaux, and Johnette does an amazing version of Little Wing. Play them.

This has a T-Rex feel to it. Like it.

This is a quirky song, but I still like it! Even though this one doesn't seem to be typical for them, it furthers my commitment to pay more attention to this band. My only exposure was seeing them play warm-up to Sting a few years ago. Liked 'em but never listened any more than that. RP is making me more interested... :-k
I think I saw that show! Some guy named Vinx (yeah, just the one name - weird, huh?) warmed up the crowd for Concrete Blonde.
Not my favorite song of theirs, either.
allmusic.com maybe?!

Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics to this song? Google's not helping me. :?: It seems there are Concrete Blonde lyrics for every song but this one.
Really love Johnette and the boys. They are a great band and would like to hear more of CB! Johnette has some pretty cool songs on her site, check it out!

Yeah. There's a LOT better than this (f'rinstance - "Everybody Knows", "Probably Will", "les coeurs jumeaux"...etc.

Party Ben should slap this together with James McMurtry's "Choctaw Bingo" we heard earlier..... sounds like they'd fit together quite well.
my very same thought!

Or "Come Together" for that matter. Aerosmith's version. ;-)
What can I say? I've got a soft spot for Concrete Blonde. Likeable anyway.

Nice song. Very bluesy and catchy.

Alright, I will. A 9.
