My mind is in a state
'Cause all I seem to do is tempt my fate
Well I try every space
But all the while we're crushing at the gate

This time, this time
Reality struck me between the eyes

My mind is in a state
'cause everything I miss it comes too late
So I try and disappear
But there is only one way out of here

This time, this time
Reality struck me between the eyes

My mind is in a state
But all I need to do is change my pace
And I know there's fear to face
But happiness is firm in its embrace
This time.
This time.
This time.
This time.

This grreat song becomes even greater when Liela Moss is the one singing [apologies for repost but those vocals remain sublime six months later]
UNKLE feat. Liela Moss - In A State (UNKLE, Redux Reconstruction) - YouTube
This guitar sample sounds a lot like a Cabrel song (French singer)
wanna move to this. Either in body or car. Exhilarating.
Liking this, but i'm thinking 'where have i heard that percussion sound before?'
Took me a while, but i think it's this - F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E. - Pulp
What do you think?
Should be followed by Heat Miser (Massive Attack)
The intro sounds like a speeded up version of Mike Oldfield's 'Tbular Bells'.
Try the live version of this song with Liela Moss on vocals - truly sublime

started with 8......no......9. nice sound! Never heard it before.
The beginning sounds like a Rupert Hine song
Everyone here at at ICE HQ  be groovin’ to unkle🙃

Great tune. Love the sample of Ren hitting Stimpy with a frying pan.

Shit -- now I can't unhear it!
Great tune. Love the sample of Ren hitting Stimpy with a frying pan.
If this plays while I am driving, just go ahead and send me the speeding ticket.  I will have deserved it.
How can a band this good remain beneath my awareness?  Parents, don't do what I did - turn the volume down.
If that piano intro had gone on for only 24 minutes more,  I would have guessed Ludovico Einaudi.
Does anyone else here catch a whiff of Nelson Riddle's theme song for the TV show Route 66?
I was waiting for the 'Missing - Everything but the Girl' lyric!
Zola Blood groove, I love it all. The Fostex tweeters are tweeting!
Mike Oldfield Tubular Bells rip off, me thinks?  Yup. For sure!

Is this the same playlist as yesterday?  Or am I hallucinating?
Love Unkle. What’s he up to nowadays? This is not recent. DJ Shadow collaboration still going on? Anybody know? Mr Bill & spouse Paradise? Up dates?
Another song I’ve never heard. Another song I believe I’ll love more and more. Haunting.

Great track from a terrific album👍
Air drumming to this...

Love me a bit of offbeat percussion

Ironically Unkle has a great song featuring Yorke, rabbit in your headlights. So I bet he does not like your comment
The piano reminds me of Massive Attack's Heat Miser, from the Protection album
Good song - would love to hear Eye For An Eye from the same album 👍
yes to unkle
Look at that list of associated acts (on their Wikipedia page)! Whoa... some good'uns there.

Yes, that piano intro is probably closer to Halloween than Tubular Bells, but there is some similarity to both.
As for the cover art, it looks like something a ninth grader would doodle during a boring History class.

That beat. Reminding me somewhat unpleasently of all these Dancin' Fools, stepping out of tune, back then and now.

The Meat Katie vs Elite Force remix of this song is very cool too.
Exorcist music. Splendid.
Sometimes you hear a song and it changes your life..

8>9, I guess it hit me at the right time...
Tubular Bells at the intro.

Liked it throughout
I hear Everything But The Girl's Tracy Thorn
I love you.

Yep! I definitely hear that, it's what moved me to comment 😁

RP is on a roll tonight. the last 2 hours have been amazing!

They soared with us to great sonic heights with The Answer. They spun their wheels on the tarmac here.
Interesting... Never heard before. Nice 8 at start. {#Wink}

Its ok, but RP needs to play more of UNKLE's Psyence Fiction than this album. UNKLE was great when DJ Shadow was involved.

I love Shadow but i think UNKLE's best work came after... Great songwriting with deep productions. This album is my favorite!

What is this?! I've never heard it before. Extraordinary. This is why I love RP.

This song took guts, and artistic genius IMO. Mixing in industrial sounds with orchestral movements. Yet didn't devolve into a boring disco track. Nice job.

You're right, I think Dirty Vegas need more recognition for their body of work.  This track is great, but the rest of the album is a little out there for me.

Sorry, didn't mean to frighten you.  Maybe minimalist is not the right word. I still mostly hear the underlying groove which I find very compelling.  Other bits come and go over the top of it, but the basic groove is the strong focus throughout.

Yikes!
Maybe minimalist means something different to me.
This sounds like Exorcist meets James Bond.
SO True.

I like this one.  Thanks, Mr G.

looks like the album isn't on iTunes (which is unusual). You're looking for "Never, Neverland" and it's on the Amazon link. (And it's excellent)

I won't mind the redundancy (i.e. James Lavelle is the judge, jury and executioner of UNKLE), but I like where you're coming from.{#Clap}

I loved Psyence Fiction at first listen. In terms of his new stuff, check out:

I too thought it was Mike Oldfield. Everything old is new again....
