Desire hangs on for dear life
on the window sill of the collarbone
of the one I love
And a glimmering shimmer
of sweat gathers into a pool in her palm
from a well in her wrist
(chorus)
And the only thing that speaks the truth
is the eloquence of passing time
the spoken word is a jacket too tight.
There's a shimmering vision
by the window pane
a cellophane figure speaking in
tounges from above
Theres the curve of a stone
and the crest of a wave
here are the lips that cracked
and the sound that they made
(chorus)
Desire hangs on for dear life
on the window sill of the collarbone
of the one I love.
The grass spills out and catches a flame
the trees stand up and scream there blissfullness.

Aren't you the asshole? There's nothing ugly about the band at all, not their looks and especially not their hearts. I've seen them 3 times. Some of the best shows I've seen in my 56 years. Frank Orrall is a damn good soul. After one show he came out and sat on the edge of stage just to chat with people. How many times have you seen that? I'll tell ya - zero.
GFY
I'm not sure the music is quite as ugly as the band on the album cover but it does strike me these guys are like crowded house if you took all the talent away.

Haven't heard this song in ages. Thanks! Brought back some good memories.
OMG. I love this entire CD. Such a pleasant surprise to hear this. Have to say I am thoroughly enjoying tonight's programming!!!!!

And here I believe it's a terrific song - an absolute 10 from me.

What a curious song.
I mean: it's so bad, why have they bothered?

That's almost preferable to being subjected to this song again.
Geez. Talk about adding insult to injury. I just broke my collarbone.

Someone please shoot the singer and put him out of his misery - and ours.
This album is ancient. Check out their newer stuff. A homeboy favorite in Chitown, they are extremely fun and entertaining.
is bon jovi's son in this band?

I LOVE POI DOG PONDERING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frank Orrall is the SHIT. Also fantastic on this album is Malford Milligan who does backup vocals on several tracks. Both great guys.
Buy everything that Poi Dog has ever done and play them over and over. That is a command.
I used to go see Poi Dog and Malford (in Stick People) at Fitzgerald's in Houston. Fitz's was originally a dance hall built by German farmers in the 20's (?). Hot, sweat-soaked, wonderful shows. Frank and Co. lit the place up. Malford's version of 'Livin' for the City' could make you cry.

Check out the rest of their stuff, after this album they went a bit more electronic and less organic, but still good. Of the more recent stuff "In Seed Comes Fruit" is a really beautiful album.

Sounds like wannabe U2, Joshua Tree era.
There's a great live version of this on "Planet Bluegrass" a live 2-CD set from the 1992 Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

It's been awhile since I've heard these guys. I miss living in Chicago - they played live all over the place there...
Apparently "poi dog" is Hawaiian slang for someone who is a mutt - family of many backgrounds or whatever.
Great band - had a chance to see them in Austin before they moved to Chicago - I'm lucky they play all the time in Chicago - all of there music is good

While this isn't a 10 by my standards I would guess that your elevator is permanently going down.
Not bad stuff and where else would you hear it?

You might wanna turn around, your target is 180 degrees the other way.
