Built a king on compliments
charisma,and advertisements
Still They see him shimmering ephemeral
if it ain't
supernatural
if it ain't supernatural
Supernatural,or maybe
It was an out of body
exerience,yes I flew around
a hospital room once...
on intreveneous demerol
...you weren't
Supernatural........if it ain't
Supernatural ,supernatural or maybe
A sudden smell
a certain view
sparked a whoppin' case of the deja vu
Is it inexplicable
no,no,no it ain't
supernatural
Supernatural,OR MAYBE!
Yeah!!

I haven't heard this version, but the VH1 Unplugged version is one of my favorite songs/covers ever...All I've had is a crappy worn out cassette to listen to for 20+ years.
I kind of like these guys in small doses, I appreciate the fact that they are not singing about placentas or people's juices (!?!) on this one. This is a nice song and it's getting a 7 for now.....
...live²...

I used to own it, but I don't think I have it anymore. The CD, similar to the first "Sweet Relief" CD for Victoria Williams (I think), is a benefit CD of cover songs (this one is for Vic Chesnutt). The best songs on the CD, in my opinion, are this one (from Live's MTV Unplugged show back in the mid-nineties) and REM covering the song "Sponge". The rest of the tracks were okay, I guess, but none of them were memorable enough to make me want to keep the CD.
Here's a track listing -
1. Kick My Ass - Garbage
2. Sponge - R.E.M.
3. Gravity Of The Situation - Nanci Griffith And Hootie And The Blowfish
4. When I Ran Off And Left Her - Soul Asylum
5. Dodge - Dog's Eye View
6. Supernatural - Live
7. Sad Peter Pan - The Smashing Pumpkins And Red Red Meat
8. West Of Rome - Sparklehorse
9. Guilty By Association - Joe Henry And Madonna
10. Panic Pure - Kristin Hersh
11. Withering - Cracker
12. Free Of Hope - Indigo Girls
13. Florida - Mary Margaret O'Hara
14. God Is Good - Vic Chesnutt And Victoria Williams

Recent times
"On September 14, 2007, the band released their first album since 1989 on their own Action Front Records label, Radiant Sea: A Collection of Bootleg Rarities and Two New Songs, featuring two brand new songs: "Beautiful Invisible" and "Radiant Sea". In March of 2008, Live will begin a short tour in promotion of this album, and they plan to play at a few festivals during the summer of 2008."

Let's go to a sit down, sing in. Folk music is still alive? Boy am I in a complaining mood today or what?
I don't know about this CD, but 'V' and Birds of Pray were great. I thought their two Cd's before that suffered from being overdone and not getting the songs produced right, but those 2 subsequent CD's were all excellent songs, more like the first album in that respect. Great in the car and at home, totally solid songs and tuneful and inspired. I keep hearing that Songs from Black Mt. is very good too, and I plan to get it, but haven't heard it yet.
great song...

They sucked and were banished to the south pole.

Really...all it needs is Santana playing the lead licks. Ripoff. Either on Santana's part of Live's--not sure which came first.

"...Hey, now. All you sinners...
Leave your lights on..."
Love The Live.

Viva Vic!
One of my all time favorite songs. First heard it on their Unplugged, now I know where I can buy it. Awesome.
is someone holding his nose?
Terrific pull from your collection RP. This song shows some real strengths of Live, though not their own track.
I was obsessed with this song when Live played it on Unplugged. This is one of the songs that helped me learn to play guitar when I was 16 (I'm 26 now) and I haven't heard Live do this probably since. Radio Paradise continues to astound me with the variety and the archive they have. Thanks!!
Shame that RP doesn't play any Vic Chesnutt, the person whose song this is. Cover versions are OK so long as the original artists are also given a chance!
This reminded me of "Put Your Lights On" by Santana.
I'd like to hear the original now!
He may be a brilliant songwriter (really don't know), but he's an absolute dickhead in concert. I saw him open for Live a few years back. He was awful, and his attitude was worse. Opening acts don't get to be jerkwads. Never listened to him again...

Vic Chesnutt is incredible indeed - a truly magnificant song writer - such a pity there aren't any of his stuff at all on RP!

I adore the guitar in this song. I've always enjoyed Live.
Now there's something I never thought I would hear anywhere but at home listening through my own collection!
A great and haunting song from Live's performance on MTV's Unpluged. (The whole performance rocks!)
A 9! But then again, I am a sucker for anything Live. Been to see them everytime they visited small Denmark. Don't know any singer who can fill a room with his voice the way Ed can!
Keep the good surprises comming RP! :-)
More Live!...outstanding voice and musicians...
Awesome choice! I have this CD and it's totally great. This is one of my favorites from it.
that's a strangely interesting combination. would never have put those two together in a room.
