People talkin' but they just don't know
What's in my heart and why I love you so
I love you baby like a miner loves gold
Come on sugar let the good times roll
Hey
So many people live and make believe
That they keep a lot a dough up their sleeves
Well my love baby isn't the kind that folds
Come on baby let the good times roll
Hey!
Let the good times roll
Oh come on baby
Come on baby and let daddy do you so
Hey yeah, baby let the good times roll
Our love is nice if its understood
It's even nicer when your feelin' good
You got me flippin' like a flag on a pole
Come on sugar let the good times roll
Hey!
Let the good times roll
Hey!
Let the good times roll
Let me show a baby
Let the good times roll
What's in my heart and why I love you so
I love you baby like a miner loves gold
Come on sugar let the good times roll
Hey

Plus, Trower's work (e.g.: Bridge Of Sighs) was clearly influenced by the work of Hendrix - not the other way around.
Two reasons:
1. Jimi headlined first
2. Trower didn't die young

Show-off !
Thank goodness for the PSD button!!!
Yea, verily I say unto you that this immortal phenomenon briefly incarnated in part as the one and only Jimi Hendrix lives, for he comes alive, and thrashes the life out of my speakers, infuses my freaking plants, rattles the walls and windows with otherworldly vibrations, and makes me wriggle and writhe in sonic ecstasy every time RP puts him on! Not necessarily STONED, but, uhh...BEAUTIFUL...
Thank you SO MUCH for not playing one of the usual Hendrix songs we've heard so many times over the years!!
Jimi would have been 69 today.......
Awsome!
My upload!!!! Thank you!!!
Perfect groove....yeah!
one of my favs - screaming solos, funky chords and great vocals
Hell Yes!

If Trower was a glass of talent, Jimi was an ocean. Think not ? Just ask Clapton, Page, Beck (Jeff), B.B. King, Van Halen, or Trower himself. Hendrix was in a class of his own, not to be matched by mere mortals.
Why isn't Robin Trower held in as high esteem as Jimi?

3. Jimi was American, home of the hyper-est-marketing record industry in the world. There was money to made from a black psychedelic rock-and-roll guitar player, especially after he died from drugs. Google his music rights and you'll see what I mean.
4. Trower's catalog doesn't include as wide a variety as Hendrix's.
(Trower still isn't dead, as of February 5, 2011, when I saw him on stage, although he's got to be pushing 65.)

the only reason someone would give this anything lower than a 9 is spite or stupidity.

Bout time we heard this again. WOW it's great!!!!!!
Woooooooooo YEAH! :D
The segue from Billie Holiday was most appreciated. I was fixing dinner (late, it was) and just smiled..."Only on RP, I thought."

My 12 year old just discovered this album (vinyl) in my collection and is burning the needle to dust!!!

I thought RP was supposed to be live and DJ mixed? Looks like it might be DJ mixed and recorded. . .
. . . or perhaps Bill is fond of certain sets?

This i personally think is one of Hendrix's best guitar performences for sure.

He played like this with his guitar upside down!!!! The R&R Hall of Fame has a great dedication to The Master.
A shame he is gone regardless.
I always wondered what it would have been like had he been around during the music video era!

Not true. Ugly and uninformed aspersion to cast.
If he had been as you describe, no one would have ever heard of him.
He used like a lot of people back then. Accidents can happen.
Be careful out there.
8.3! Yessss!! My upload!
absolute ecstasy..
Yikes! The voice is no big deal, but what about that guitar work? No wonder he could carry a song all by himself. Can you imagine how much better he would have been, had he not been f...d up all the time, both on-stage and off?
normally I praise Bill's great flow from song to song;set to set, but a big swing and a miss going from Billie Holiday Ain't Nobody's Business to this.
Historically I've not been able to appreciate Jimi Hendrix at all (I know, I know...my bad) but I kind of like this a bit.
Perhaps there's hope for me yet.
Does it get any better? Stevie Ray did the song justice... but Jimi was the master... pure R&B guitar playing genius.
Sit back, close your eyes...and try not to think of all the other stuff that doesn't come close!!

I don't think our resident physicsgenius understands the contributions in sound experimentation that Jimi made. This guy did things way ahead of the curve, and although this isn't one of his best efforts, tunes like Angel, Little Wing, As the Tide Gently Turns, EZ Rider and more each offered a new sound for the time.
Sounds like phasing, enveloping, wah and distortion were pioneered, in part, by Hendrix. Some combinations of those sounds, even today, amaze recording engineers given the limited sophistication of late 60's electronics.
Actually, I believe distortion was pioneered by Marconi and Edison. Then technology improved. I guess Hendrix missed a memo.
Sometimes you get the feeling his band isn't able to follow (not that surprising!)
YEAH!!! I uploaded this! :-({|= :sunny.gif:
You thought he was making it up as he went along, then he played it again exactly the same and it sounded just as good.
Awesome. I personally like Stevie's version better, but you have to respect the teacher.
OMFG!!!!!!!!!!
IT CAN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!!!
Come on Baby, Let the Good Times ROOOLLLLL!!!
This particular Hendrix song as a lead in from Billie Holiday-SUPERB! Way to go Bill!
