I got so much to say
But I'm afraid it'll come out wrong
I'm not a king to the eighties thing
Where you look after number one

But I won't rock the boat
'Cause I'm scared what might happen
I won't rock the boat
'Cause I'm one of the millions

Who never seem to do anything
(He never seems to do anything)
I never seem to do anything
(He never seems to do anything)

And every time I get the urge
To strike out on my own
Insecurity wraps me up
It's cold outside the fold

So I won't rock the boat
'Cause I'm scared what might happen
I won't rock the boat
'Cause I'm the man who merely threatens

He's always saying what he's gonna do
(He's always saying what he's gonna do)
I'm always saying what I'm gonna do
(He's always saying what he's gonna do)

I'm running steady, oh so steady
So safe and sound, I could drown, I could drown

I've had my fill of living in my cosy armchair land
But all my schemes come to an humiliating end

So I won't rock the boat
'Cause I'm scared what might happen
I won't rock the boat
'Cause I'm one of the millions

He's always saying what he's gonna do
(He's always saying what he's gonna do)
I'm always saying what I'm gonna do
(He's always saying what he's gonna do)

No I won't rock no boats
(He's always saying what he's gonna do)
Kiss goodbye to my hopes
(He's always saying what he's gonna do)

No I won't rock no boats
(He's always saying what he's gonna do)
Life is easy when you're being kept afloat
(He's always saying what he's gonna do)
(He's always saying what he's gonna do)

He won't rock no boats, hey
No I won't rock no boats
I'm so scared, well I'm scared
'Cause I won't rock no boats

Yeah, yeah I'm one of the millions
I'm one of those millions
No I won't rock no boats

Wonderful!
Awesome commentary on many (most) Americans...the enemy of fulfillment! (and an awesome song and album overall)
1970s- 1980's - the sound reminds me of Gentle Giant...
Oh, gosh, this CD stayed in my officer computer for ages.

A wonderful band, sadly neglected.
Wonderful - just love XTC's chorus's

Brilliant song from another one of their classic albums. The lyrics of XTC's music are more timely than ever now. Check out 'Books Are Burning' from Nonsuch or 'President Kill' from this album for relevance in our troubled times or 'Knuckle Down' from English Settlement.

President Kill was a reference to Reagan (or possibly Bush, Sr)
Never noticed it at the time how similar the vocalist in XTC sounds to Peter Gabriel in the 1970's Genesis era.

Both great but PG has developed and matured - unfortunately Wikipedia has a long story of difficulties for XTC since the mid 1980's.
a wonderful album.
Ooh! This is a pleasant surprise!

Yes! I was thinking the same thing but couldn't name the KB song. It's largely down to the male choruses in both songs, I think.

They're both waltzes.

Reminds me in a way of Kate Bush's "Army Dreamer"...

Skylarking and then this album -

Wonderful times....
Ladies and Gents, I have this Peter Max-designed album cover on my wall!!  Gorgeous colors and shapes (if you like the art of Peter Max)!
XTC - more please!
There is some great stuff on this album. This is not one of the better ones, IMO.

Huzzah for another lesser known XTC - wohoo!
more XTC!
Another song with a great intro.
