I mean, Swedish. Really.

i wish i could understand what they were saying...

I mean, Swedish. Really.
LaND OF SCORCHING ROCK-N-ROLL!? And pancakes with strawberries....
Lingonberries more likely
FUNNY!!!
Here is my try at a translation of the lyrics for you. I am Danish, not Swedish, but that is close enough. I only mention this in case any of my Swedish brothers or sisters detect a mistake
Ledsen i förväg
Music Nonstop
I needed a hundredth of a second
Now that I have made my decision, I am calm
Visions in my head when you laugh
I have found something beautiful,
the friend, do you see what I see?
I am almost like you
And you are like me when you dance
Have never met anyone like you
You are like me when we dance
Music nonstop till the end
I went to get me some sun light
and I moved my desk and my chair
to the garage underneath our house
When I close my eyes, I see the light
I am almost like you
And you are like me when you dance
Have never met anyone like you
You are like me when we dance
Music nonstop till the end
So it took me a hundredth of a second
I have travelled back in time, become young
Visions in my head when you laugh
I have found something beautiful,
the friend, do you see what I see?
I am almost like you
And you are like me when you dance
Have never met anyone like you
You are like me when we dance
Music nonstop till the end
And you are like me when you dance
Have never met anyone like you
You are like me when we dance
Music nonstop till the end
Don't most Swedish lease forms contain a provision against opening
a bulging can of THAT in any public or private residence...?-)

Bombastic. fat throbbing groove captures it perfectly. The Swedish works really well!
head-banger intellectual rock?

My rating is: 8 - Most Excellent HEJA SVERIGE
I'll go +1 for Sweden (Go Sweden indeed!) this song kicks butt and has to be a 9.....LLRP!!
That stuff is wretched, i.e. makes you wretch.
And I prefer the Swedish version, to the English one.
So thank you for that.
That's fixed. There are lyrics for this song also (link above). No translation, though.
I think the lyrics of the English version of this song are a quite straightforward translation, but you might want to check this with the nearest Swede.
There's no need for that kind of talk.

Googling "Kent band" should get you to their pages, but I don't believe there are any translations. There are some down this page a little. Cool tune.

I needed a hundredth of a second
Now that I made the decision I am calm
Visions in my head when you smile
I have found something beautiful,
Friends, do you see what I see
I'm just like you
Chorus:
And you are like me when you dance
I have never met someone like you
You are like me when we're dancing
Music non stop to the end
I resigned to catch some sun
And I moved my desk and my chair
For night garage under our house
When I close my eyes I see the light
I'm just like you
Chorus
So it took me a hundredth of a second
I have traveled back in time, become young
Visions in my head when you smile
I have found something beautiful,

I'm just like you
Chorus 2x
Well I am swedish and I don't understand it either.
Great tune.

hejsan :)
Almost right except its been over 50 years and most people still know who he is and the little band he was in.
Ahhh, you mean Wings right?
(10 years later) "...Paul McCartney was in a band?"
(10 years after that) "...Paul McCartney? Who's Paul McCartney?"

Sigur Ros? More like Abba, which I happen to like, and I happen to be a bigger Viking than you are so no negative comments. ;-) Great party tune. This one just rocks out.
Names don't always speak of one's nationality...
You definitely should! I recommend you start with this one, "Hagnesta Hill". It's a complete masterpeice and my personal favorite. Can be found in english although the lyrical vividness doesn't come anywhere near the swedish one - but I guess it's better to understand the words than to not at all.
Or maybe I changed my mind, go with the swedish version - even though you can't understand the lyrics the mere sound of the swedish words complement the instruments so much better than the english version.
When you've fell in love with Hagnesta, check out "Du & jag döden", "Vapen & ammunition" and also the first CD on "B-sidor 95-00". They are all awesome records.
Good luck and have fun!
Thanks for the tip. Well worth checking out. I'll go for the Swedish-language original version, for the reasons you state - a language has its own sound and rhythms which often don't 'translate' well. For instance, I'm a big fan of Gaelic-language music, and the sound of the language and of the music are organically linked - English 'translations' would be, at best, clunky.
Thanks again to RP for bringing so many brill Scandinavian artists to our attention. Truly an unmined (for English speakers) but rich vein of culture.

Och heja Finland, half of the band has finnish roots.
I'm taking the liberty to reply to this as I like Kent too but they're not my favourite Swedish band either; just one name for you
EBBA GRÖN
check out the song "Staten och kapitalet" (The state and the capital) OH MY GOD that song is easily one of the greatest punk anthems EVER. Enough said.
Sounds good. Please upload.

Oh. So what are the favourites?
This still rocks.

Don't forget Isola (available in english or swedish too) - any Kent collection is incomplete without the full version of 747... :)

I'm sorry to say it's pronounced pretty much exactly the same as in English.

I agree 100%. My god mother lived in Goteborg... what a beautiful area.
I kid, I kid.
Mork Mork Mork!!
I read in the wiki entry that kent put out a summary CD in 2008 entitled Box 1991–2008.
Any impressions?
I love Sweden and it’s people. I was just there for 8 days and I will be returning asap. Kent is HUGE there.
It's a great country ... apart from trying to buy alcohol. My partner and I ended up walking round Stockholm looking for a Systembolaget, though I suppose we saw lots of the city that way!
