Now that the "k" is in place
Where the "c" used to be
It seems that I'm ceasing to be
In the season of the old me

I wouldn't trade my place
I got no reason to be
Weathered and withering
Like in the season of the old me

Bust the lock off the front door
Once you're outside you won't want to hide anymore
Light the light on the front porch
Once it's on you never wanna turn it off anymore
And now it's on
And now it's on

Now that the lake's in place
Where the dead sea used to be
It seems that I'm ceasing to be
In the season of the old me

I wouldn't trade my place
I got no reason to be
Weathered and withering
Like in the season of the old me

Bust the lock off the front door
Once you're outside you won't want to hide anymore
Light the light on the front porch
Once it's on you never wanna turn it off anymore
And now it's on
And now it's on
And now it's on
And now it's on
And now it's on

Uninspired comment.  These wear me out.  This is not done out of love for music.  Discover the psd function, por favor.
Anyway, it may seem to more open minded ears that this is a fun foot tapper.  by all means, enjoy Ms. Swift.

Great Lake Swimmers?
Guster-ish, perhaps?

Though it was Built to Spill at first.  Pretty good.
Nice tribute to Kevin Garcia, gone waaaaaay too early {#Sad}
RIP KG. pxd
Good gawd Bill!  Have you gone off your meds?  WTF is this crap?

Same here.  Thanks, RP!
Wow, really digging this. Sounds familiar yet new. The ZenDream cover with plum blossoms and swans looks like a lake in Hokkaido...

No' bad when the song gets going, but that "click" at the start really grates on these ears.

Less edgy Death Cab for Cutie.

I think Orchestral Hit is the sound of user Teadye typing "bleh"
Forgot all about this song ... pleasant enough, good for a Friday afternoon. {#Bounce}

"Orchestral Hit"

I always wondered if anyone actually used that in music. I guess some try.

Nice analogy.

For a 12 year old.

Channeling the late Ron Asheton, late of (Iggy &) The Stooges.

What the hell is this?
This song has a little chime noise in the background that is the ringtone for my phone . . . I keep thinking someone's calling.
Don't much care for the whang-y sound of this set. This one especially sounds like something you'd hear from a fake rock band on a sitcom. Bleh. Really bad music writing and mediocre performance. If this is humorous, I guess it went over my head. Guess I need a little more overt stuff like Unled Ed or Spinal Tap.

Are they supposed to be funny? Hmm.. might change my opinion on this ..
Was that a goose call at the beginning?

more granddy please
The first Grandaddy tune I heard was here on RP, "So You'll Aim Toward The Sky." I thought to myself, "eh, decent tune but these guys sound like Radiohead ripoffs." Then I heard "The Go in the Go For It" on a SomaFM stataion and realized they weren't a Radiohead clone afterall. So I looked into 'em some more and bought about 15 tracks from a download site. Thanks streaming radio for introducing me to a band that is bemusingly ignored by "standard" radio.

And this is something to brag about? btw, Gary Condit, to whom you so obliquely refer, was never a killer.
what was that screwy $#!t at the beginning?

and it gets really foggy too!
I saw these guys in concert and while their sound may not be new, I think they deserve credit for putting real feeling behind their music. If you've seen some of their video content, you know what I mean (not talking about stuffed animals). The video for "The Warming Sun" is more thought provoking and meaningful than most big-budget films these days.
...while comparisons are being made - kinda like an early Foo Fighters (guitars and harmonies seem reminiscent)? Nice - like it.
Excellent use of the goose call as an instrument.
very cool band.

completely agree. This may be my new least favorite song on RP. Wish I was good at defining why...generic is the closest I can get.
i love grandaddy!! ... great cd ... i listen to it over & over (since i'm one of those people who listen to cd's over & over)...
or neil young meets joy Division?
These guys opened for Pete Yorn--They were like Neil Young meets The Eels--They Rocked!
Good song. My 5-yr old son loves this 'coz he likes the video with all the furry toys dancing as the band plays!!

Oops, sorry, spliff. Just checked, and these guys are from Kaliforniay! I'm thinking of another Mississippi band, whose name fails me. My Great-Great Grandfather had a blacksmith shop at the confluence of the White and Little Red rivers - good to talk to a homeboy. Sorry about the error - too much information in too little brain! Spliff, gotta disagree. Bands like Grandaddy, who have Southern roots backgrounds but infuse modern influences, give me hope for the future of American music. Hey, at least it's not rap.
I will have to give it another listen. I didn't pickup the Southern roots influence. I didn't like Gomez until I saw them live last year in Memphis, now I really like them. Old dogs ya know.
The guitar are pretty good. I find Jason Lytle's voice tedious.

More Grandaddy! :goodvibes.gif:
this is good...crunchy guitars with smooth relaxed voices...good chorus melody/lyrics
what a neat pop diddy. i love it! glad to see some grandaddy being played here on paradise.
