Way to go Mister Microphone
Show us all what you don't know
Centuries secret societies
He's our commander still
Space dog

So sure we were on something
Your feet are finally on the ground, he said
So sure we were on something
Your feet are just on the ground, girl

Rain and snow, our engines have
Been receiving your eager call
There's Colonel Dirtyfishydishcloth
He'll distract her good, don't worry so

And to the one you thought was on your side
She can't understand, she truly believes the lie

Lemon pie
He's coming through
Our commander still
Space dog
Lines secure
Space dog

Deck the halls, I'm young again, I'm you again
Racing turtles, the grapefruit is winning
Seems I keep getting this story twisted
So where's Neil when you need him?
Deck the halls, it's you again, it's you again
Somewhere someone must know the ending
Is she still pissing in the river now
Heard she'd gone, moved into a trailer park

Voice 1:
So sure we were on something
Your feet are finally on the ground, he said
So sure we were onto something
Your feet are just on the ground, girl
So sure we were on something
Your feet are finally on the ground, he said
So sure we were on something
Your feet are just on the ground

Voice 2:
So sure those girls are in the Navy
Those bombs our friends can't even hurt you now
And hold those tears 'cause they're still on your side
Don't hear the dogs barking
Don't say you know we've gone Andromeda
Stood with those girls before
The hair in pairs, it just got nasty, well
And now those girls are gone

Whenever Tori Amos comes on I check the comments to see the whine-fest. I'm not talking about her either. It would be nice to look here and see some insightful or humorous comments.
I enjoy her music. If you don't, press the skip button. It works like a charm and will save you from suffering.

Some long time ago on here, someone commented that when Bill says her name they'd mis-heard it as 'Toy Anus'
That still makes me smile whenever she's played on here.
I know that's not insightful, but will that do?

I adore Tori, always have. I can not abide Kate Bush, for no logical reason. It's just the way my ears feel about them.

Tori's music is like opening a bottle of wine. It needs to breathe for a bit before taking that first sip. Difficult to do when cycling through other music & genres.
If only, something after Little Earthquakes made a bit of sense... still, can't help but like this particular nonsense.

There's a couple songs where she loops her own voice over herself, and I always think it works awesome for her .

Horrible, cacaphonous, grating crap like most of the junk from Tori Amos.
The pulse of the rhythm section and the deep breaths between lyrics - magnificent.

Tori really has it. Whatever it may be.
Kate Bush wannabe

On the contrary - too little Tori on RP. There can't be "too much Tori".  But there's way too much R.E.M.!

A good, serious listen and this song's code can be cracked. Glorious stuff.
Kate Bush wanabee?
I don't think I've ever missed one of her tours... Long Live Tori {#Clap} 123K
Like two very marginal songs playing at the same time.  Now I've got to PSD Cloud Cult, too.  Something fabulous awaits on the other side.  Thanks, RP........

It's technically called "vibrato", and perhaps she does it to a greater extent than other singers, but it's a style of singing which has been around for centuries.  I guess some people like it, some people don't.
She is so much better than the usual whiney-lonely-female-singer-songwriters on RP.

maybe because ta all about repeating the one trick that is endless whining about some or other injustice perpetrated upon her or some other female. she's an obviously talented musician, but that whining, pleeeaaaase make it stop....

It's a Cheautiful Burch, Many Thinkle Peep so,  May I Sew You to a Seat?
Tori Amos, the queen of whiney ass discordant crap.
Tori Amos spelt backwards is Soma Irot
Did she just sing "The grapefruit is winning?"

*commences to drinking all the mulled wine we were saving for Christmas Day*
Stahp.
A bit screechy.
I'm not a Tori hater, but this song sucks.

Wow. Never noticed the lyrics overlayed.  (I'm sure there is a musicology term for this.)
Haters gonna hate. Old school Tori - rock on!
Nice writing. Annoying music. Adios.
Tori Amos really annoys me right now...
Kate Bush is listening to this and thinking "I must have been really drunk at the time..."
It seems that most RP-listners don't like Tori. But I do!
Overall rating is at present 4.3 too low on 5.7.  Unstoppable album of utter brilliance - every song a 10.
If there wasn't Tori Amos we would have to invent her. Excellent.

Rut-roh!
Never thought I would admit that she has a very nice voice.

Not my favorite Tori song, but it reminds me of a friend.

They're very different artists, and I imagine many people are more put off by her voice than they are by his.  Also, he is an infinitely better songwriter.  This song's pretty good; I don't get all the hate, but whatever.
When I listen to these solo, esp female, artists, I think of all the advantages of having a band, and having your fellow member/friends tell you when something doesn't sound good.  The collaboration aspect of rock is the artistic element that is so under-appreciated.
Mute
Tori & PSD.... it even sounds right when you say it.
Sorry, don't like Tori's music.  I find it grating and not soothing in the least.

Please, somebody put her out of my misery!
..... channelling Kate Bush .....
I can't help but think her music is a joke, and she's laughing all the way to the bank. It's so bad, but people "claim" to love it. How, when, why, where? I am confused.
This is a little to high up on the keys. When she puts a little bass into her compositions, I like her. Otherwise, eh.
I HATE This....put the dog out of its misery
O_o
just don't get the appeal

Thanks for the laugh... That's funny....  {#Angel}  I don't like anything by Tori Amos...
I love Tori Amos, when she isn't too weird. This one is just a shade weird, but not way out there, so I like it. Some of her albums are awesome, especially Scarlet's Walk and the Beekeeper. She keeps the weird out of those and focuses on the pretty. Then check out the lyrics, she's telling an interesting story.

Ah, right, that makes sense. Which reminds me of the old one about John McEnroe playing tennis, when suddenly a reptilian creature from the TV series V materialises on the court. Yer man stares in disbelief, then shouts, incredulously: "You can not be Sirius!!"

I'll get me spacesuit...

hehe, not confused here. I won't criticize another person for being moved by a particular song—even if I can't stand the artist (i.e. Natalie Merchant, Dave Matthews, or most country music).  If you like it and it moves you, more power to you!  Maybe I don't understand, but whatever. So, my response to you is that I'm not confused at all. This song—Space Dog—has always really moved me. It gives me goose bumps and chills and an explosion of emotion...which is how I KNOW it's a 10 rating for me {#High-five} Tori's music moves me in a way that no other artist does.  In fact, I often find it so moving that I can't even listen to it because I don't want to "go to that place" you know?  I can't rationalize it....it just is the way it is.  I think others feel the same way about music they are excited about. And you probably do too.
Tori's quote does sound like she's from crazy land, but that's part of why we Tori fans love her so much.  And a big thanks to {#Kiss}BILL{#Kiss} for playing her on this radio station.
