Something that can make you do wrong, make you do right...
Love...
Love and happiness
Wait a minute...
Something's going wrong
Someone's on the phone
Three o'clock in the morning, yeah
Talkin' about how she can make it right, yeah
Well,
Happiness is when you really feel good about somebody
Nothing wrong with being in love with someone, yeah
Oh, baby, love and happiness
Love and happiness...
Love and happiness...
Happy say
Love and happiness
You be good to me
I'll be good to you
We'll be together, yeah
We'll see each other
Walk away with victory
Oh baby,
Love and happiness...
Love and happiness...
Make you do right... love'll make you do wrong...
Make you come home early...
Make you stay out all night long...
The power of love...
Wait a minute,
Let me tell you...
The power of love...
Make you do right... love'll make you do wrong...
Make you want to dance...
Love and happiness...
Love and happiness...
Love is... wait a minute... love is...
Walkin' together...
Talkin' together...
Say it again...
Say it together...
Mmmm....
I like the idea of giving every user ten "11s" to use on their very favorite/exceptional songs. You'd only get 10 and, once you reached your limit, you'd have to drop a song to add a song.
BillG?
and the same with "1"?
(F. Schiller)
We need a Play It Again button.
I'd really like that. Or, a restart/rewind button?
I believe this may be my first '9'...
How long have you been listening?! So many 8s, 9s, and 10s here!!! LLRP!

Good idea.
How he managed to avoid the Robert Johnson fate has to be one of the mysteries for the ages.

Or just give out 10's very, very sparingly. That's my modus operandi. Otherwise, next it'll be giving out 12, and so on.
If only the Rev Al had been appointed to my local church...I would have signed up!
Magnificent!
Even Christianity would be worth it. ( almost.)
Excellent singing of course, but listen how tight and groovy the rhythm section is....That's exceptional as well! Especially if you take in consideration how things where recorded back then.
And the horn section!
Al Green singin' 'bout it.
Yeah!! Brilliant idea! BillG ? —— Al Green's brilliant too, and would sure be someone I'd use that button for.... all his songs are too short. This one's one of my few 10's ratings.
I discovered a way. It's clunky but at least was repeatable one midnight walk 10 months ago:
1) Google Pixel 3 phone
2) the song you want to replay playing from the cache (in my case Anushka Shankar live at Carnegie Hall)
3) as it's ending, take a long exposure photo using night sight
4) this must completely peg the phone's cpu while processing, and the music will stop
5) when the photo is saved, the song starts over.
Make that a 10.
For me it was an 8. Up we go.
Magnificent!
Make that a 10.

Another Devon UK fan.

There's over 100 "sampled by" listings for this Al Green track....take a look and see if you find the tune you're thinking of....and of course this is a great way to look up a lot of other samples used....and also of course...Long Live RP!!

It depends on which "current stuff" you're talking about There are plenty of artists still recording soul music which doesn't have those elements which you list. I'm not so sure it's up to a white person to speculate how much "soul" a contemporary black recording artist has anyhow. Still, it's not fair to compare just about any other singer to Al Green.
Love'll make you do right and love'll make you do wrong.
and the truth
Love'll make you do right and love'll make you do wrong.
Just keep pressing the PSD until it plays Al.
Brilliant!
Agreed. Anything by Al.

now son that ain't the way we did it in church
Amen brother!
I know what you mean about the audio quality but some music is so good that it's worth listening past those flaws. This song is an example of that. It's so good it transcends those shortcomings.
Right on : )
used to love hearing this on my am radio while doing my homework, Wolfman Jack was still on the air, many moons ago

It's probably Charles Hodges - he was the primary session organist for Hi Records.
Geeez..Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Spinners, Ojays, Isely Brothers. There was a brief time when "soul RnR" music had it's moment.
Ditto
Yah, awful friggin' great!
Everything about this song is awesome. Al's singing, the backing vocals, the horns, the organ, the guitar.
Totally agree.
I hear ya, brother... this song is marvelous... where are you these days? Hope all is well for you and life is grand...
:)

...... totally agree must be "Godlike"
Voice, Lyrics, Horns - but hear that organ. Playing that instrument takes more than a run-o-the-mill pianist.

Love and happiness
You be good to me
I'll be good to you
sweet joy everytime Good Rev.
As a special treat, Mr. Buckley regales Yale freshmen studying roots music with his ballet-oriented version
of Mr. Mick Jagger's "Little Red Rooster." Soul Brother indeed, Mr. B.
Damn, that is funny!!!
