Haven't got a lot to learn
And my eyes, they stray again
Looking for a satellite
In the rays of Heaven again

Yesterday is ending

Jealous minds walk in a line
And their faces jade the strain
Stranded in infinity rooms
And they're safe from any harm

Never noticed it before, but it does sound like he just got back from the dentist here.

Well, it would be challenging to play on key using a poorly-tuned piano.

Maybe that's part of his "supposed genius".
Please take the gauze out of your mouth and repeat what you just said.
is that you, Dr. Zoidberg?
WOW!!!!!
               THIS IS LAME !!!!!!!
I love the spooky, haunting piano progression -- and the dreaminess of this track is quite mesmerizing!

Everybody in my churches loves this pun on son song...  we believe in nothing and everything...

I agree. Missing from the original release. The DVDa is one of the best 5.1 mixes I've heard.
Another great track from an album almost as significant as OK Computer. Brilliant production and Beck exorcising the demons of his long-term failing relationship.
I particularly like the drawl.
Give me Beck, Jeff Beck, over this anytime.....{#Eek}
I saw him at Wolf Trap in Northern Virginia when he toured on this record.
Seriously one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Truth
I don't mind Beck's stuff, but don't see the supposed genius of his work. And listening to the lead in to this makes me wince. Played off key on a poorly tuned piano.
Pleasant but forgettable...
I just can't help but like Beck....even if he sounds a bit drugged up or something.  This is a great album btw
Hey Wenatchee, good to see ya, Spokane here

...he kind of looks like sebastian vettel on that cover...
Beck pisses me off. She's in napa valley
Loved Beck since the first album, but is he singing with marbles or cotton in his mouth on this one?

It sounds like he is singing before the novacaine wore off... especially at the beginning.

Wow, I never knew this, but The Cinematics did a cover of this song on their album "A Strange Education." That version is way better than this one, if you ask me. CRAZY!

There's no other ending

Yesterdays are mending

Bwaaa! (milk comes out of nose).

Doesn't Beck play all his own instruments?  Just as affected as the mumbled vocals, and works perfectly.  Even if it isn't to your tastes, you have to admire Beck's production vision at work here.

This comment made me laugh out loud ... that's exactly what this song sounds like. That and the discordant piano makes this track a big "no" in my book.

Yeah, and the best gets better in SACD format.

Yeah ...

I go back and forth on Beck ... this one's a thumbs down.

Love Beck. This is his best IMO.
Not a great fan, but this is interesting.
I'm thinking Foo Fighters meet Sonic Youth. I like it.

I gotta admit - he sounds like he\'s singing with pebbles in his mouth. The whole album is lugubrious and somewhat self-absorbed. Then again, he\'s still very young. I also think he has not yet had a real artistic breakthrough. Not a big fan of his and I\'ll continue to wait for him to find a distinct musical voice - he don\'t got it yet. Does nothin\' for me. Gave it a 4.
He just had to ruin it at the end. Might have gotten more than a 3 otherwise.
that piano riff makes this cut -- one can see the heat waves rising up from the notes... :D
I really think Beck was more than a little remiss in not giving NIck Drake at least an acknowlegement in the liner notes.....I mean the guy is dead, but it shouldn't be an excuse to so blatantly rip off a bleeding chunk of the little that Drake left behind. I really was a solid Beck fan until he did this scuzzy move....I wish I never bought the CD and had downloaded it instead. It also now makes me suspicious of what else he may have consciously passed off as original. The whole CD stinks ....and if you want to give anyone an argument about it I suggest you listen to Drake's "Way to Blue" first.
There is sooooo much going on in this production, it is going to take quite a few listens to get my head around all the sounds. (IMO, a good thing) Q
