Here
I'm not sure who's fooling who here
As I'm watching your decay
We both know you could deflate
A seven hurricane
Seems like you and your tribe
Decided you'd rewrite the law
Segregate the mind
From body, from soul
You give me yours, I'll give you mine
'Cause I can look your god right in the eye
You give me yours, I'll give you mine
You used to look my god right in the eye ''(here)''
I believe in defending
In what we once stood for
It seems in vogue
To be a closet misogynist homophobe
A change of course in our direction
A dash of truth spread thinly
Like a flag on a pop star
On a Benzodiazapene
You give me yours, I'll give you mine
'Cause I can look your god right in the eye
You give me yours, I'll give you mine
You used to look my god right in the eye ''(here)''
Oh Zion please remove your glove
And dispel every trace
Of his spoken word
That has lodged in my vortex
I'm not sure who's fooling who here
As I'm watching our decay
We both know you could deflate
A seven hurricane
You could have spared her, oh but no
Messiahs need people dying in their name

You say, "I ordered you a pancake"

some people complain about comments they don't like, some people complain about music they don't like.
Quite honestly, I generally enjoy the negative comments, even for tracks I love. What I don't like is when people insist that the track be removed or whatever - just skip forward! It's fine that you don't like a track, fine that you let everyone know why (that's a valid conversation) but don't deny the taste and desires of others.
she is so special.

You're right; Kate Bush is extremely talented and writes amazing songs. Tori Amos is a wannabe, trying desperately but not succeeding at sounding like Kate. No need to get upset about it.
I can't say I was a huge fan of either but Kate Bush has grown on me whereas Tori Amos has not.
And yeah, the vocal fry on this is horrible.

Kysmet, you must be my long lost twin. Hooray for the mute button!
I have read some of the comments about Tori Amos being compared to Kate Bush. Honestly I didn't know who Kate bush was; therefore I looked up her music on youtube. I wonder what is wrong with people, not trying to be insulting to people's perceptions, but their is no comparison. The two women sound nothing alike. I found that Kate Bush had more of a Bjork sound to her voice, but not as good. Also as far as someone saying Tori is a wannabe...hmm Tori has been playing music since she was young; around the age of 14. She played in piano bars at 14 and won a singing contest in 1977; therefore she was copying no one her voice, music, and songwriting is original and leaps and bounds over this "Kate Bush" women. That is my personal opinion.

All right already - keep your hair on. Just because Tori Amos' voice sounds a bit like Kate Bush doesn't mean that you have to rush into some ludicrous denial on account of your loathing of Kate Bush. Whilst their music is different their voices have some similarities, like it or not. Or maybe that's my "hearing disability" talking ;-|. I'm a big fan of Bush and now Amos - the two are not mutually exclusive. 7 from the Nottingham jury.
mmmm, but.... i prefer the cornflakes.

Another thing: TORI AMOS IS THE PIANO GENIUS. Kate Bush was not tinkling on ivory keys at 2 and a half. Tori makes love to her piano, KB does no such thing. She's not prude, but she doesn't have the same emotional acuteness nor the same sexual undertones that are so strong in Tori's music (though she does have some sexual overtones, but little sexual frankness). They are two completely different artists. Genius songs like Cornflake Girl and Crucify could have never, ever come from her. I just don't see it.
I still regret my take on Rap which I loudly and vocally shared with my friends in High School. When I finally had my rap "eureka" I really regretted my previous position. That being said, I guess I should be less sensitive to being utterly and completely wrong.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii give this a 3.
