Oh come on y'all...I am not anywhere near a fan of this band...but this song is pretty good.

I really like this song (Chorus and verses are 8s) but then it gets to the bridge which seriously grates on me and takes the whole thing down to a 6

While I still find myself counting blue cars, I don't listen to these guys as much as I should. Great stuff, slightly below the radar.

This song of theirs, has grown on me.

Met the lead of Dishwalla, JR, and was surprised that he is the nicest guy (even after chatting a while).  I do think his music is underrated overall but then again, many of my favorites get trashed on RP but I know that they are truly savory ... but for special tastes.  I'd love to hear James, Marianne Faithfull, Leonard Cohen, Lord Huron, Carly Simon, Josh Ritter, Lana del Rey, Of Monsters & Men, and plenty others get more kudos (or even played at all) but they usually get really dumped on.  Oh well, my eargasms anyway.  Art is in the ear/eye of the beholder.

Counting Blue Cars is a fantastic song - this song however, which I've never heard, would need to grow on me.

There are scads of influences in this song. Very eclectic, very RP. I love the Porcupine Tree-style drumming in the middle. 8 from the spaced Nottingham jury.

Never heard of them but...Interesting!

Occasionally appears to have a strain of Beatles melody in there ("We were talking... about the space between us all...")

I have this on DVD Audio Hi Res 5.1 Surround disc. Sound quality is very good and the use of surround really opens up all the soungs on this. A very enjoyable recording

Nice juxtaposition of instruments and beat—would have preferred that the opening instruments been included throughout.  Haven't been to view the lyrics, so I stand to get educated.

Opaline IMO ranks as one of the finest albums of all time, and this from a sexagenarian.

I heard this album for the first time when I was vacationing in San Diego. It was a pleasant surprise because it wasn't getting any airplay in Canada. It's definitely one of my top five albums of last year. Check out the song "Every Little Thing".

I think this is the best song this band does... but I think as all good things go, it last too long. When it fades out to the heavier jam they should have continued down that road instead of rehashing the chorus again... it would have been perfect then. ...and for the first song on the album... it does not really set the mood for the album...

Dishwalla also has cover songs on the Depeche Mode tribute album "For the Masses" which is great (I believe it's "Policy of Truth") and I think they do a cover on the "Schoolhouse Rock Rocks" album (I don't remember which tune). Each time I hear a song by them, I'm pleasantly surprised by there musical abilities.

and in reverse... this rating system doesn\'t go to 11 ... maybe sometimes it should.. :) Everytime I hear this tune I turn up the speakers, add a little bass to the sub and enjoy the thump as it moves thru my chest. Really? I don't hear it at all. Bush reminds me of a Nirvana Clone, more or less, and Dishwalla sounds nothing like Nirvana....or anything similar to them.
