Well I've been up to Paris
And I've slept in a park
Went down to Barcelona
Someone broke in my car
And I'll search the world over
For my angel in black
Yeah, I'll search the world over
For a Euro-trash Girl
Took the train down to Athens
And I slept in a fountain
Some Swiss junkie in Turin
Ripped me off for my cash
Yeah, I'll search the world over
For my angel in black
Yeah, search the world over
For a Euro-trash Girl
The CRS on the metro
Shook me down for a bribe
On my knees for the sergeant
When my passport arrived
Yeah, I'll search the world over
For my angel in black
Yeah, I'll search the world over
For a Euro-trash Girl
Euro-trash Girl, Euro-trash girl
Euro-trash Girl, Euro-trash girl
Called my mom from a payphone
I said "I'm down to my last."
She said "I sent you to college
Now go call your dad."
And the waitress that he married
Well she hung up the phone
You know she never did like me
But I can stand on my own
Sold my plasma in Amsterdam
Spent it all in a night
Buying drinks at the Melk Weg
For a soldier in drag
And I'll search the world over
For my angel in black
Yeah, I'll search the world over
For a Euro-trash Girl
Euro-trash Girl, Euro-trash girl
Euro-trash Girl, I'm a Euro-trash girl
Yeah, I'll search the world over
For my angel in black
Yeah, I'll search the world over
For a Euro-trash Girl
Solo Johnny
Got a tattoo in Berlin
And a case of the crabs
A rose and a dagger
On the palm of my hand
And I'll search the world over
For my angel in black
Yeah, I'll search the world over
For a Euro-trash Girl
Euro-trash Girl, Euro-trash girl
Euro-trash Girl, Euro-trash girl

I recall well how freaked-out and happy I was to discover this great hidden track on this CD that I bought while on vacation in Guam in July of '94. I took it back to Nanao with me, where I had my nice private English school gig, and played it almost daily for weeks.
i’m glad William continues to play bands like cracker that don’t necessarily get very good ratings. I love cracker. I’ve come to realize that nostalgia has a lot to do with how I rate songs. I grew up in Southern California listening to Cracker and a lot of other indie bands that don’t seem to get rated very well on Radio Paradise. Thank you for the courage to keep playing a fine eclectic mix of music.!

Great song. I still recognize it from those first couple of strums.
Classic for sure. This was first published on their LP as a hidden track. Was a pleasant surprise. LOL
This would pair well with Mofro's "Dirt Floor Cracker"
My wife and I saw Cracker in Cicinnati a couple of weeks ago. F*#%in jammed!!!
Love the collaboration with Leftover Salmon and Cracker doing all these tunes. Very awesome.
saw them play at City Winery in Atlanta in 2016. Glad I went. They sound great! Johnny is a great guitarist and showman too!
I know Bill loves a good bass line, and this song certainly has one. Played by Davey Faragher (who is part of Elvis Costello's backing band, The Imposters).
I'd heard the F.S.K. version before (it was produced by David Lowery, from Cracker)

Good old Radio Paradise. Hadn't heard that one before - and loved it. So I bought it and hopefully Bill and Rebecca get a little bump on the money side. Can I just say that there is a little posse of Paradise fans here around Bath in the UK who all feel that RP is almost always just about the sort of music you can totally live with.
Thanks a whole huge bunch RP for being so brilliant and we really, really appreciate it.

In spite of #MeToo, I would love a Euro Trash Girl. I would search the world over for her. Haven't heard a song I instantly loved the first time I heard it, in a long time. My only disappointment to the song is, he doesn't find her.We need Euro-Trash Girl2.
This song is so funny.
Reminds me of the young American and French tourists in Bolivia who basically showed up to get high. Some of them established close bonds with folks doing multi-year prison sentences in La Paz for trafficking. Back then, the jail was the best place to score cocaine according to many. (Yes, I know.... totally dumbass.)
From what I heard, young French tourists touching down in Peru were asking where they could buy cocaine before leaving the tarmac.

I prefer the Chicks on Speed version
Could pass for Marcy Playground.

As an introduction to this song, Bill shared a funny anecdote about his days in radio. A woman called the listener request line to complain about this song, and the following exchange ensued:
Caller: “Ugh! Why are you playing this song? The title, ‘You’re a Trash Girl...’ it’s so disrespectful of women!”
Bill: “It’s not ‘You’re a Trash Girl...’, it’s EURO Trash Girl.”
Caller: “Oh, and that’s any better?!”

And this is my point - great songs like this don't mix well with top 40 junk like John Cougar or Counting Crows. Please delete those artists from your fantastic radio station.

Good one Bill.
Regarding Mr. Bill's commentary about the caller complaining about RP playing a song titled "Euro-Trash Girl" just now, even with trust funds provided for an education, it doesn't guarantee my cousins' kids show up anywhere other than a University of Alabama frat house.

Another brilliant work of art by Dave and Johnny.
American trash song.
I just love the dual-blues thing going with Davey's pained vocals and Johnny's WILD GUITAR! Still one of my faves from a classic disc!

Brilliant, back packing through Europe in 93 and 95. Do all backpackers in Europe have these similar experiences, Euro rail pass headaches, Swedish junkie singing Satellite of love to my future wife and I in Granada, it all puts a huge smile on my face. Thanks Bill.

I was so pleased to be informed of this secret song — & fellow buried gem I Drive My Car — when I got this CD in '95 in Guam that I spread the word. The expat buddies and I in Ishikawa sure jammed it up, from Ken's Bar and Un Poco in Kanazawa to Wakura Onsen.
Tedious in the extreme. And that's not just the chorus.

EVERYBODY NOW! "EURO-TRASH GIRL, EURO-TRASH GIRL, YOUR MY EURO-TRASH GIRL ... "
This song was hidden on the CD on number 99.... days of driving around smoking (what is now legal in some states) and listening to this album...over and over! Those were some times... I'm thinking about you Liz.
Just think of the unlikelihood of a very country-sounding band playing a song called Euro-Trash Girl. Found treasure, for sure....
Ah, yes... The story of my early 20s as they unfolded in Western Europe the mid-90s... I still can't decide if this song holds up over time, but I always turn it up when it comes on... Thanks, Bill!! : )

HAHAHAHAHA! Went to Europe for 3 weeks (France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, UK) in the late 1990s with my twenty-year-old sons, and this was our theme song!

"Case of the crabs" makes it an 8. What's wrong w/ the 20-somethings that they can't appreciate really good lyrics?
I'm surprised at the negative comments. I'm too old to know these guys, but this song has genuine wit. Sounds like a theme for an entire generation of post-adolescents. I'm gonna give it a 7, at least, maybe an 8.

Yes, they are great live for sure! I got to see them at a street fair in Chicago several years ago and ROCKED. I think many (most) people had no idea who they were but you could see more and more become intrigued and slowly started paying attention; it was palpable to observe.
