From the world wide web:
Govinda Jaya Jaya Gopala Jaya Jaya
= All glories to Govinda (the Supreme Lord) All glories to Gopala (the Supreme Lord as a boy tending a herd of cows)
Radha Ramana Hari Govinda Jaya Jaya
= All glories to Radha Ramana (Lord krishna who takes away all material attatchments of devotees)
Nrsingadeva Jaya Nrsingadeva Gaura Gaura Gaura Hari
= All glories to Nrsingadeva (Krishna when he adopts a lion's head and a human's body to protect devotes from demons) and all glories to Gaura Hari (The Golden Supreme - Krishna when he appeared near Bombay in the sixteenth century as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabu)
Gaura Hari Prabhupta Govinda
=The Golden Supreme, The Hare Krishna Movement, The Supreme Lord.
Sanskrit's a fascinating language. One word can often have several different meanings which can make translation tricky. Some of the sages took advantage of these double (or quintuple :-}) meanings to make their scriptures work on several levels simultaneously.
Just to make things even more interesting, many Hindus believe in one universal force which can manifest itself as several different Gods simultaneously. Govinda, Gopola, Nrsingdeva (along with all he protects us from) and Gaura Hari are all different aspects of the same thing.
Of course, Govinda is also within and without each of us. (A nod to George)
Thank you, that is nice
.
For anyone who remembers The Two Ronnies -

I was going to ask if anyone knew the translation... thanks for posting. I tried an online translator but it couldn't even offer one word. The lyrics are cool - we are God, God is us. No division.

I HAD this on a cassette tape that I tossed out the car window while holding a loop of the tape. Oh the dumb stuff you do after a breakup!
That's a rather interesting song and sequence and series of tracks. Indian raga hooked into Pearl Jam, after Cracker and before Oasis. Don't try this on that FM dreck, folks. I think I'll see it's on iTunes.
I heard L.A. radio just lost it's main classic rock station to Christian radio. Ouch.
HaaHaaa! Its ALL about the V!!
Govindam"
I mean, duh, of course?!
Great fantacizing about her when I was 11. Here she is below at 67. Still pretty darn cute.

I am ageless and never heard of grandma!
Who is she? An alternative film star from the 40's?
Your daughter got it right!
It's exactly what they sing!
Your daughter is very funny, but also really clever!
Smiling !
Lol, I won't either.
Very funny.
It is a rather joyous song isn't it??

Thanks for the memory.
I hear Peacocks. Just like here in the 'hood.
Yup.
Got this used for $2 at Amoeba in Berkeley and, of course, if not for RP I would not have known to snap it up.
Amoeba in SF was a-maz-ing. Can't remember exactly where it was (the Haight?) but I remember getting lost for a few hours there.
Love the peacocks in the beginning of this.
Yup.
it was sweet seeing his mom and his aunt (Hayley and Juliet Mills) on this show BBC's (on Netflix)
"Wild At Heart" about a British vet and his family that moves to South Africa. It's a sweet show, nice for kids and my dogs love it. Lots to bark at.
I agree... this song rocks... we be dancing...

Yes, that would be the qualifier for knowing this bit of trivia. Being at LEAST a half century old! Hah Hah!
I'm only 35 and I know who Haley Mills (and Haley Mills) is.
Oh, yes indeedy, I would. And I'm only slightly over half a century old.

Also Karl Marx, King Kong and Gene Kelly...An eclectic mix, just like RP!
With the jaya jaya stuff going on ... should we start identifying faces on the album cover? Methinks I spy JFK and MLK. (John F Kennedy and the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, for my international friends.)
The military guy pointing to you is General Kitchener, from a WWI recruitment poster.

My favorite RP comment of all time!
Took a minute to find the real thing versus some live's and slide shows so i thought i'd share the fruits of my labor.

I was wondering if someone was gonna say it
