Sucks that the radio stations in 1997 just played "Building A Mystery" and "Semi-Charmed Life" twice an hour instead of giving us a taste of stuff like this.
Me want more of The Orb on RP!!!! Yeah!
Chair dancing!
Dug the beat. It drifted between good and sometimes Asian fusion restaurant soundtrack, and at times into what it might sound like at universal studios with all the weird horns and train and speaking bits.

agreed, i will always remember this from my early days as an RP member back in 2001.

HERB ALPERT!?!?  On an Orb tune comment thread?
This tune aged very well!
That. bass. **doof-doof** - quality track!

I've been fortunate to see them perform live a few years back - highly recommended.

nice space and drums
bumping this up to 8. Kind of miss the 90's trip-hop music scene.
More Orb Plz!

Whiner! Just chill, and enjoy! Every song isn't gonna hit every musical taste!! Don't like what's spinnin, hit PSD button, instead of reducing yourself to what reminds me of a whiney teenager. So, grow up, open your ears to new, eclectic, and, various genre artists! Or, you can leave the rest of us to enjoy the hard work that RP brings us, and go back to FM.

The British music paper The New Musical Express said 'the audience was in the fifth dimension'. I know I was. Not long after I saw Dr. Alex Paterson playing music in the chill out room at a Primal Scream gig also at the Academy with Funkmaster George Clinton and also playing were The Memphis Horns who had backed The Rolling Stones.

Aren't we discussing music, not the attractiveness of the artist? Plus, if it isn't appropriate to be on my screen when I am talking to my boss, I would rather it not be there. There are other websites full of sexy pictures (and well executed illustrations, for that matter), lets make this one about music, ehh?

It's not yet 1:30 am nor pitch black here nor are lasers and strobes flashing about while 700 of your best friends are dancing all around you but cool just the same.
Good biking groove
Nope, 0733 isn't too early

Love this album cover and have tried to identify all the towers ...

From noon, clockwise:  Eiffel Tower, Space Needle, Washington Monument (?), Ulm Cathedral (?),  Fernsehturm Berlin, Leaning Tower of Pisa, unknown slender pyramid, Victory Tower (Berlin), Empire State Building, Sagrada Familia, Tower of London, and the Kuwait towers.

The 2:00 tower can't be London's Shard, as it was built ten years after the LP was released.  (My guess was the Washington Monument.)

And the 6:00 slender pyramid has an arched spine, which should make it easily identifiable ... but I have no idea.

HELP!!

For 3:00 I'd guess Colone Cathedral and 10:00 is Big Ben not the Tower of London. I've seen 6:00 somewhere, but I'm stuck too.
This helps wake up the party spot in my brain. i needed that today.

I saw The Orb headline a local UK festival but they didn't play this track, they were great but I went back to my tent somewhat disappointed and put on RP thru a Bluetooth speaker... and RP PLAYED IT!!!! I was ecstatic!

This song sounds like it should be played at the beginning of a basketball game

Funky song, but I like it!
Something to drive the masses grooving way out in Deep Playa on Labor Day Weekend.
Sublime. Yes. . . obviously for some that is difficult to understand, but there you have it. I love my musical taste!

Unfortunately I was too old and stiff for dancefloors when this music was up-to-date. I'm sure it was stunning. {#Bananajumprope}
The second song in a row on RP with bell/chime sounds...nice

I'm partial to the "Fila Brazilia Mix" of this song that's on one of those compilations I bought back in the late 90s, but it's always good to hear a little of The Orb.

I do like a bit of Orb, and this one is hopelessly addictive.

chucca bumm, chucca bumm, chucca bumm, chucca bumm....

I've not heard that clip at the start before, and it made me smile. It's from the (in)famous Marrow Song (lyrics, YouTube video with Kenneth Williams), an old example of British innuendo from the days when nothing that even vaguely hinted at sexual activity could be mentioned in song. Quite what it has to do with the song I've no idea, but what the flip, it's fun :o)

Musicianship? Dunno, but who gives a toss - this number is more fun than a barrelful of monkeys.

It does seem as though many commenters have a very narrow definition of music.

Dr. Alex Patterson was a manical genius of 90's techno!
Fun! Reminds me of old Tangerine Dream/trance stuff from the 80s and 90s.
