I'll be long gone
By the time you make up your mind
Gotta make my own way
Around the kinda misery I find

I'll send you my best
Of regards and the rest
I'll leave up to your own sense of time

Yes I'm gonna get up and make my life shine
I'm gonna get up and make my life shine
I've made up my mind... to make my life shine

I'll be high flyin'
By the time you come round to me
Todays a new day
Different from tomorrow you'll see

Good luck with your path
But it wasn't built to last
Or we might take it differently

I'm gonna get up and make my life shine
I'm gonna get up and make my life shine
I've made up my mind... to make my life shine

Good luck with your path
But it wasn't built to last
Or we might take it differently

I'm gonna get up and make my life shine
I'm gonna get up and make my life shine
I've made up my mind
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
I'm gonna get up and make my life shine
I'm gonna get up and make my life shine
I'm gonna get up and make my life shine
I'm gonna get up and make my life shine
Get up... yeah yeah yeah........

i want to shove an exhaust pipe through my fucking heart!  At least Boz is going to "get up and make his life shine" after all of that

You seem cross about something, but I can't quite work out what it is.

Just realized I thumbs-upped myself. Nevertheless, Boz Scaggs is amazing. 'Nuff said.

As a member of the Steve Miller Band, Boz Scaggs was a bit of a hero of mine. Then one day, quite by chance, a tall guy came up to me at the place where I worked in London asking to see my boss. Not recognizing him, I asked the guy's name and was very embarrassed when he answered in a slow southern drawl "Boz Scaggs" [with a long emphasis on the "o" of Boz and "a" of Scaggs].
Wonderful performer, writer, singer and musician who assembles unbelievable bands for recording and touring. His work will survive the test of time....

His 2 most recent albums from the last 5 years,  Out of the Blues & Fool To Care, have some gems on them too!
In the late 70's, I saw Boz, two years in a row, on New Years at the Paramount Theater in Oakland and he was backed by the Oakland Philharmonic.....what a classy venue for a classy singer and band

Mr. Scaggs always had class , ya a Cal. guy with a ton of talent.
I use to really like this guy back in the day...but I guess now I am just not in a California frame of mind....{#Rolleyes}
Maybe his best tune, but again, maybe "Lido Shuffle" is.
It WAS an amazing show

Boz Scaggs - I'll Be Long Gone
Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good
Massive Attack - Safe From Harm
Whoa..this is a first!
Never seen Presidio Slim lookin so young, certainly maintained his groove mastery.;-)
Stunning. Shame it doesn't seem to be available as an MP3 anywhere I could buy it.
Good to hear Boz.  I still like the early Steve Miller Band stuff when Boz was with Steve.

Thanks, I loved his early stuff. Too bad he went what schmaltzy?

Yeah ... Loan Me a Dime with Duane Allman on guitar is deeply classic blues. However, I saw Boz in concert last year and he was surprisingly energetic. And his voice sounded exactly the same as always.

I'm familiar with exactly 2 Boz cuts (Lido & Lowdown), and while both are listed in the Radio Paradise library, neither of 'em have ever been played here.  Sounds like you're probably OK with that, if "Silk Degrees" is considered part of his schmaltzy period...is it?

Thanks, I loved his early stuff. Too bad he went what schmaltzy?
Who's Booz ??
Mmmm...Boz
i lile this—-never heard it before
I had NO idea this was Boz Scaggs - good song!{#Music}
Shivers of immense delight.
Does it get any smoother? I don't think so.

And Zep II continues to be represented by that "Dred Zeppelin" abomination. Which is evidence that one probably would have to take such a correction directly to Bill. Me, I'm apparently too lazy to do that.

Standing the test of time, I'd say. . . .  This should be on everyone's vinyl/CD/MP3/? shelf

Thought this was Todd Rundgren, but Boz is good, too.  Great lyrics.

I love this era of bluesy jazz/rock. The horns are great. Early Chicago/CTA has a similar vibe.

Tracy Nelson's does a great cover of this song.

Yep, I heard that, too.  It's the background vocals.

Cool
It's like this is a test pattern until Bill gets back to the controls.

Goddamn, I sure do love this.
Boz!  a big fan way back when...hard to believe this album was released in '69!

This was his second release after leaving the Steve Miller band. The cover art shown was from Silk Degrees in '76.  This song was on this album:

Boz is simply terrific. His Dig CD from 2000 is outstanding.

Good to hear Boz Scaggs on RP. An old FM rock station in San Antonio Called KISS FM used to play his classic "Somebody Loan Me a Dime" pretty regularly. It is a long song, but every minute is a treasure. That is where I was introduced to his guitar player, Les Dudek. ........

well ......Dwayne is no slouch on Loan Me a Dime either.........

"This song is not from the album pictured — it's from a much earlier Boz Scaggs album."

Yes, it's from his debut solo album just after he left the Steve Miller Band.  Pretty sure it was right after the Sailor album (which had the hit Livin in the USA).  Self titled debut solo album with some great session men on it.  Some songs were country tinged and others were blues, rock and jazz influenced.  An excellent album.  His Loan me a Dime was a definite crowd fave at his live shows.

Les put out several solo albums that were full of great guitar playing - kind of like Allman Brothers on steroids - Good stuff.
WOW. This song is sweet! It gives me the same vibes as Cocker's version of A Little Help From My Friends
seven or eight years back, he put out a really strong blues album named Come on Home. Worth a listen, just like this song

I never knew Mr. Scaggs had such a range. And he's a Texan too, but don't hold that against him... Too bad his hits haven't aged very well. I like this pretty well though. c.

This song is not from the album pictured -- it's from a much earlier Boz Scaggs album.
Pretty good gospel vibe, but I enjoyed a few other cuts off of this album back in the day. I remember Silk Degrees being a fairly reliable 'date' record back in the mid 70s.
