These tears I've cried
I've cried 1000 oceans
And if it seems
I'm floating in the darkness
Well, I can't believe that I would keep
Keep you from flying
And I would cry 1000 more
If that's what it takes
To sail you home
Sail you home
Sail you home
I'm aware what the rules are
But you know that I will run
You know that I will follow you
Over silbury hill
Through the solar field
You know that I will follow you
And if I find you
Will you still remeber
Playing at trains
Or does this litte blue ball
Just fade away
Over silbury hill
Through the solar field
You know that I will follow you
I'm aware what the rules are
But you know that I will run
You know that I will follow you
These tears I've cried
I've cried 1000 oceans
And if it seems
I'm floating in the darkness
Well I can't believe that I would keep
Keep you from flying
So I will cry 1000 more
If that's what it takes
To sail you home
Sail you home
Sail you home
Sail
Sail you home
I've cried 1000 oceans

I like this song and Tori's voice, but I just can't get over the way she sings 'ociiieeeaaannsss'

Tori is a trained Singer and Kate is a trained dancer. Both very talented born out bu the Stadiums Tori fills.

This did not stand up well after This Woman's Work and I'm usually fine with Tori Amos.
I knew nothing of Tori Amos, but my husband loves her, so I went with him to see her in concert. Say what you will of her recordings, but I thought she put on an entertaining and enjoyable show even for someone who didn't know her music.

What is that that's keeping the beat? Sandpaper blocks?

I am not a fan of Tori but this is an excellent song.
The backing effects are very ideocyncratic - hints of a wash board, or a panting machine (reg TM)??

Yeah, sounds just like it, they both have pianos.

Screw the haters. I like Tori Amos and I'm not ashamed.

Very nice!
A nice surprise for me. Normally, I skip over Tori Amos. She's a bit too shrill and full of angst for my tastes. But this is sentimental, melodic and sincere. I really like it. Lyrics are a bit trite...but I'll take it. Very nice.

This is gorgeous. I almost can't believe it's Tori!!

She occasionally comes up with something inspired. More often than not, like this, it's another ponderous tune.
This is a beautiful, emotional track especially when paired with the video.
annoying and grating. typical Tori.

OK so you program this after Peter Gabriel to make us think it's Kate Bush? But no.........it's that whiny Tori......

Who is whining here? :iamwith:
This is a great song! I love everything about Tori, including her voice.

After multiple multiple multiple listenings, I think my only complaint on this song is the overproduction. If you've ever heard this song live, you know precisely what I mean. While this is haunting, when she does it live there's not a dry eye in the house, it's that much better. /worship
Thanks for the insights. For those of us stuck with the studio version it is a bit much.
Beautiful song.

I need an emoticon holding up a bic lighter!
This is the song that made me get off my ass and go buy my first Tori cd.

Dont know many of her songs but I think this is beautiful and relaxing. Much better than cornflake girl. And I love corn flakes -although corn chex are much tastier-but since Ive been trying tolose 5 lbs I've cut back on them alot.
In that case, and since you appear to follow the Song Titles Diet Plan, please, trust me, do not wash down your preferred breakfast cereal with 1000 oceans.
I haven't heard this song in a few years. This was the first song of her's I really liked, and I like it a lot. It was my favorite song on the radio when it first came out.
This is one of my favorite Tori songs of all time. You've just made me a very happy gal!
I'll have to re-address my attitude towards TA, I like this song quite a bit.
One of the few Tori Amos songs that does NOT sound like she's singing in a barrel at the bottom of the sea. :)
I haven't been a fan of Tori's for quite some time, but even I have to admit how pretty this one is. Really nice.
Very nice.

...mrowr.
Definitely not one of Tori\'s best.
