I don't mind Tori, but I think we've reached the saturation point on RP some time ago. I find myself pushing PSD just because I'm not interested in hearing Tori anymore.

This doesn't need to exist. Now that I think of it, Tori Amos' singing career didn't really need to exist either...

This song is covered by way too many people as it is, but this is a new low. What was she thinking? As others have said, I like Tori Amos. This is awful.

It's funny, but my initial response on hearing it just now was to go to Radio Paradise and vote "no" on this... really, I can enjoy Tori Amos to a certain extent, but her doing her overcompressed breathing thing on this song just doesn't feel right. But then I see that people are going MUCH further in their reactions, and all of the sudden I'm feeling the need to protect Tori Amos. My how things change. Anyway, look at it this way. She's a good piano player and vocalist even if you don't like her style, and I see no problem with her covering a good song like this one. That said, I DO have to question RP's need to PLAY this song. I don't really feel that it adds anything new to the song. Now, her "Teen Spirit" cover on the other hand... THAT really worked for me. So there.

Start out with a song I can't stand, and moan and ache over it....yuck. Way too messy. But I must part company with those who dislike her version of "teen spirit" -- pretty interesting. Then again, it's all about the quality of the material one starts out with.

Have to say, while I love Tori, this is a poor rendition of this song. Patti Smith covers Bruce well, Tori it appears does not.

Interesting juxtaposition, Bill. I'm not a Bruce fan, but hearing this version (right after another Boss song) makes me appreciate that there's no denying great songwriting. Seems I enjoy other people singing Springsteen songs. Thanks for playing this.

Please don't allow Tori Amos to cover ANYONE's songs! No one covers her stuff, the leats she could do is respect that decision and LAY OFF. God, this is bad, but nowhere near as bad as her version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

Sorry Tori, you did a pale imitation of Bruce's version. I guess she was just asking for failure, though; I doubt anyone could even begin to approach Springsteen's studio recording of this song.

Oh, the return of the whiney annoying one... Not sure what's more annoying... listening to the songs she writes (I mean, come on, the word "bullshit" in a chick song?) or knowing she's making money butchering someone else's fine song through her "cover."

Why are people so offended by remakes? I for one love them, and actively collect ones I think are remarkable. Reinterpreting others people's songs is as old as music itself. It is only in the last century that we all got attached exact renditions of songs.

Remove the vocals, and it might raise the rating to a "3" in my book.

The best thing about this I\'m On Fire version was the relief of listening to John Hiatt\'s Crossing Muddy Waters afterwards. BTW, I appreciate some things she does, but not her \"rebuilding\" rock \'n\' roll songs into semi classical stuff.

Not a big fan of Tori\'s slower stuff, but the segue out of Coldplay\'s Clocks was a master stroke! The piano and vocal similarities are striking. I NEVER would have thought of putting these two songs together. 6 for the song and a perfect 10 for the transition

First, let me say that I am a Tori fan... but this is just wrong. Some remakes work great, but this is not one of them. Blech.

RE: the \"beats the Pointer Sisters\" question below... i think you are thinking of \"Fire\", not \"I\'m on Fire.\" Also a Springsteen song, but not the same Springsteen song. He writes a lot of music. The language only has a few thousand really useful words. So eventually a guy runs out of song titles.

I\'m not a huge Bruce fan (here in Seger country) but I consider this tune one of his most passionate and moving. Tori has ruined it forever for me...

This song actually brought be back to Tori and the Boss. I\'ve always love Tori\'s versions of songs. I think this is one of, if not, her best.

I like Tori but this rendition is absolutely horrendous.

This is just horrible to me. A perfectly wonderful Bruce Springsteen song sung by this goof ball. Sing your own crappy songs sister - leave the good ones alone. But that is just my opinion... :)
