I keep on dancin'
Dancin'
Nothing left to say
Nothing left to do
I find myself alone
And thinking just of you
You got me dancin'
Dancin'

Why don't you help me?
Why don't you guide me?
Why don't you promise
To stand beside me?

There was a man in a foreign land
In love with a woman that he didn't understand
Love is not a thing you command
Love is something that keeps you, keeps you
Dancin'
Dancin'

Why don't you help me?
Why don't you guide me?
Why don't you promise
To stand beside me?

I keep on dancin'
Dancin'
Nothing left to say
Nothing left to do
I find myself alone
And thinking just of you
You've got me dancin'
Dancin'

Why don't you help me?
Why don't you guide me?
Why don't you promise
To stand beside me?

Dancin'
Dancin'
Dancin'
You've got me
Oh
Help me
Guide me
Why don't you promise
To stand beside me
Help me
Oh

Understand - I feel the same way about much of Norah Jones' work.
Chris works for me, tho

Not a big fan of his but this is pretty good
Somehow ... lame. Not my cup of coffee.
Love Chris Isaak.  So SF.  Where I lost a few hearts and smoked my first joint.  After an April 15th march to end the war.  Country Joe was singing on the back of a flat  bed truck, about the buys I was flying home from Nam  in  a box.

I send a hundred bucks , hopefully every year. The pleasure is worth more.  Even my wife likes it and is changing her ways!  haha (in case she sees this)

What, I wonder, would Chris Isaak sing about if he weren't so consumed by lover's angst? So often with songwriters, mental anguish is the mother to songwriting creativity, and that appears to be the case in Spades with yer man. For a good-looking and, presumably, rich guy, he's in a lot of mental torment. Great songs and singing, mind - his pain is our gain :)

Frederick, As usual, you have nailed it, in a non-confrontational way. Good man.

So groovy
What Elvis could have gone on and done and sold 100s of millions more records, if he didn't have mother issues and wasn't a good ol' boy. Chris carries on the spirit of that sweetness and romanticism (if not the record sales).

A voice like silk and a naughty attitude. I'll never forget the radio interview he gave in the DC area where he just messed with the DJ the whole time. "Where were you born?" "In the back of a pickup truck. I was the child of gypsies. I never knew if I was theirs or if they had stolen me." The DJ gave up and just let him talk about whatever he wanted to talk about. It was a great interview.

This guy is obviously immensely talented and folks tell me he's a riot in concert.

I'd be OK with never hearing anything by him ever again, though.

Dancin' at work!

Always love this one. Glad to hear it here.

Yes, I hear it too. It's a similar guitar sound. I think "Lily was Here" is from Candy Dulfer's album "Saxuality". Dave Stewart on guitar and Candy Dulfer on sax.

Good, but the original version is better. This one sounds like he's afraid to wake up the neighbours.

This is one of my TOP 3 favorite Chris Isaak songs!  {#Hearteyes}  Love this version WAAAAY more than the original.

If you've heard one, you've heard them all.
This guy can really sing.
I very much like Mr Isaak

He played the 9:30 club in DC in the late 80's and I touched him as he left the stage for a break, he was all sweaty. He smiled at me, GOD is he good looking!!!!!!!!!!

Since the first time I first heard Chris Isaak around 1990 I never wanted to dislike him, and never have. He (and his band) are excellent in my opinion. I do prefer the original version of this song, as others have said. But Baja Sessions is a great album. Great summer music.

The original version off the Silvertone album is better. Not loving this one too much.

Listened to this album about 20 times driving from NJ to New Orleans about a decade ago...a good highway companion.
Roy Orbison Jr.--Gotta enjoy that strumming!!!!!!!!!

You sure about that? I always catch faint hints of early Elvis ballads and spirituals, with a touch of Roy Orbison. That's faint hints and a touch, RP listeners, not an exact match.
Love this guy! Oh, I already said this...sorry!

Hey ladies... think wicked games video. Sorry I figured I would give some visuals to all those who are swooning right now
This song is making me hot!
Sounds a bit like Rick Nelson.
He does have a style all his own, although I agree in that in this song, his full vocal force is not realized fully - only in a few parts of it. Somehow I get the feeling that "Baja Sessions" may have more than his usual suave, romantic themes. Cannot blame him if he were hitting on college girls, by the way.

Too whiney for me. The only Chris Isaak I like is "Bad bad thing." I guess I like my guys more gritty than sensitive. In theory anyway.

Wow, Chris really brings out the ladies in RP-Land. Play more Bill, play more! \:D/
The song that hooked me on Chris Isaak. The original from the first album, of course. Wow.
Sometimes life just ain't fair. Thanks, Chris. Ya jerk. ;-) Excellent tune.

Rather disappointing, this version. Maybe it is that I am so looking forward to the ringing rise of his voice and the fulfillment never comes.
I think I like this version more than his original - very smooth and and little dangerous.
He played Ottawa a few weeks ago---what a showman; great band . You could hear a pin drop when he sang Wicked Game (he didn't do this one, though).

Chris Isaak and his band are quite talented. I'm always up for a Chris Isaak tune.
Classic Isaak song...

The only thing that I can guess at is that a lot of his music sounds very country. I went into my favorite used CD store one time and found one of his albums and gave it a listen. I'd heard two of the tracks before, but everything else on there sounded nothing like those.

I\'ve never been a big Chris Isaak fan, but I like this. I love the guitar, and his voice seems like a perfect fit for the song.
Here is why context is so important and songs sometimes need more than a couple of listens before it \"clicks\": heard this just now and went to give it a strong \"quite likeable\" rating - only to find that I had previously given it a \"4\". Wow. I am glad I came to my senses. ;)
So so sexy!! Love his breathy voice.....Purrrrrrrrr...... ;)
Love this song - love just about all of Isaak\'s work. But I almost like the Silvertone album\'s version of this a little better.

Pretty good. Expresses something many of us have (or at least should have) felt in life.
