Lay where you're layin', don't make a sound
I know they're watchin', they're watchin'
All the commotion, the kiddie-like play
Has people talkin', talkin'
You, your sex is on fire
The dark of the alley, the breakin' of day
Head while I'm drivin', I'm drivin'
Soft lips are open, your knuckles are pale
Feels like you're dyin', you're dyin'
You, your sex is on fire
Consumed, were the words to transpire
Hot as a fever, rattlin' bones
I could just taste it, taste it
If it's not forever, if it's just tonight
Oh, we're still the greatest, the greatest, the greatest
You, your sex is on fire
And you, your sex is on fire
Consumed, were the words to transpire
And you, your sex is on fire
Consumed, were the words to transpire
I know they're watchin', they're watchin'
All the commotion, the kiddie-like play

This song is terrible.
It's just terrible.
KOL were an absolutely fantastic band for their first two albums. "Aha Shake Heartbreak" is amongst the finest albums of the past twenty years.
And then they decided they wanted to sell more records, and then we get this ridiculous tripe.

American rock band formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 1999.
The band is composed of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill, along with cousin Matthew Followill.
Good Tune!
Finally tolerable - 13 years later Was absolutely inescapable upon release - no idea why it was so popular - because it had the word Sex in the title? Odd...
This band is hit or miss for me. This tune is a HIT!

This is one of those times where I'm really glad I bought that second meat thermometer to jam into my ears. Shout out to Christopher Guest for that one.

Cheesy but well-executed, and that means fun.

It's very very strange to me when people say that because as a musician (well, mediocre bass player) and huge fan I simply can't fathom how Caleb's vocals bother so many people? I find a huge percentage also LOVE them though, and I am certainly in that category, as they are so visceral, raw and unprocessed... original, that it's just really refreshing. Keep listening...especially "Cold Dessert", "Arizona" and "Closer" :)
"Kings of Leon" need to find a new lyricist and singer. The music is terrific, the rest of it just isn't.

Another song with a lot of negative comments!! For me this one is okay!
Defines "middle of the road" in 2010.

This sax is on fire?! Don't like this song. Never did. Based on this one song, I think Kings of Leon are over-rated. Perhaps if I heard other stuff by them, I might change my perception.
Please... I'm so over this song. It is played incessantly on mainstream radio. And it reminds me of my ex, so I start to feel crappy about myself when I hear it. How about some Reba McEntire?

People often accuse a band of "selling out" when they start to sell good quantities of their music. But isn't that what all artists want - to get their music to the people?Bill, you need to play Angel Taylor's cover of this!

This song is horrible in every way. It's musically uncreative and simple, and is lyrically crude and, well, stupid. Formula, all the way. The whole thing seems written and performed purely for the sake of trying to obtain a hit. There's no artistic integrity whatsoever to this song and, honestly, I'm surprised the RP has it in their playlist.

In reading the comments I see that KOL don't have fans on RP. Except me. I was told by every fellow music lover I know that KOL are just a throw away commercial band, I've been called "silly" for liking them. Nonetheless, I have them on my iPod and like pretty much every song. I especially appreciate the "Closer" tune.

I wonder if this song gets its high rating due to the fact it's about hot sex - I mean if he was singing your house is on fire would this song get a lower rating? Barely a 5 for me.
As for the riff - is he trying to make his guitar sound more like an accordian?
