And you huh?
You do huh?
We let it in
We give it out
And in the end
What's it all about?
It must be love
I give you my
I give you my
You give me your
You give me your joy
We used to say
"Ah Hell, we're young"
But now we see that life is sad
And so is love
Ooh baby live your life for love
Ooh baby live your life for love
We used to say
"Ah Hell, we're young"
But now we see that life is sad
And so is love
Ooh baby for the sake of love
Ooh baby for the sake of love
And whatever happens
What really matters?
It's all we've got
Isn't that enough?
Life is sad and so is love
You let it slip
You let it slip
I love you more
I love you more for it
Life is sad and so is love
All for love
Just for the sake of love
You set me free
I set you free
You do huh?
We let it in
We give it out
And in the end

Judging by the scattered thumbs downs and those 0 ratings - we must have some woman haters here. (or is it just Kate?)

I remember when Tori Amos first broke through she was labeled as a Kate Bush wannabe. She had the talent to push through that and prove that she had her own sound. Her Little Earthquakes album was released over 25 years ago and no "wannabe" lasts that long.
Kate reminds me of Joni M and Tori A. in the sense that they all have a distinct sound, they experiment and push it, and they never cheat or cut corners on a song. They all sound like they were crafted.

Pretty sure I fell in love with Kate in the late 70s ... just love this song!

Wow...this one deserves alot more airplay here!
I'm looking forward to her new album due out in May, titled Directors Cut. Seems she is revisiting songs from two prior albums; The Sensual World, and The Red Shoes. Phenominal news!

One of my favorite songs off of The Red Shoes album. A melancholy masterpiece.

Now I get all the Kate/Tori comparisons. I thought this was a Tori Amos song (albeit a sort of unusual one) until I checked the playlist and saw it was Kate Bush.
Could not agree more. Glad she is making music again. musicgirl101 wrote:

I know, I should leave the whole Kate/Tori thing alone, but I can't help it. You are so right, gutboy; Kate is the talented original, Tori is the wannabe. I'm sure she's a very nice person and all, but she's no Kate.
Her voice pierces me to my very core. Why am I so moved by her? Why do I love her so? Why can't I meet a woman like her?. She is unreachable to me, I yearn for her so. All the pretenders to her throne are wannabes.
I can't stand to listen to their shit.
Especially your drivel, Tori.

Actually, Kate wrote the song and sent it to Prince to add guitar and vocals. Prince ended up changing a lot more of the song than expected. Kate and her engineer weren't very happy with his changes but released it anyway. I like Prince (up to Lovesexy), but I do feel that this collaboration wasn't a success.
Prince also wrote a song for her on this album "Why Should I Love You". Very nice album.

The only song I've heard of hers that I don't mind, probably due more to Clapton's guitar than Kate.

I have been in love with Kate Bush since her first album way back when. her voice was haunting then, still is now. Previous comment, "bliss" works for me :-)
Bliss.
Just don't like her last name.

"Kimmosabe" is the name Tonto (American Indian character) used when addressing his companion "The Lone Ranger" (Caucasian character) in the 1950's TV and radio series of the same name.
Used in contemporary slang, this reference to "Kimmosabe" humorously address observations of cultural insensitivity and irony. Such was the case with the caucaisian character in "The Lone Ranger" who stood for American (white) "justice" in an era when native Americans suffered genocide perpetrated by the aforementioned.

I kinda thought it was David Gilmour playing guitar. Good tune.

She's actually got a new album in the soup that's due out this year (originally, she said spring/summer of 2005, but now it looks like it will be later in the year). This is actually not one of my favourite Kate Bush albums (although I love the title track). I'm hoping for a harkening back to her early work with the upcoming album (although I'm not holding my breath...I believe she was working with the late Michael Kamen, prior to his passing, so I'm afraid it will be a bit too much like a movie soundtrack)...

I actually heard the same thing...somewhere...
Just don't ever watch one of her videos.
Or even worse, watch 2 in a row.
She suffers from the same problem as Celine Dion. She has a great voice as long as you don't have to see her sing -- or in Kate's case: Sing and Dance.
But, I have to say that her voice and her quirky songs are excellent.
They've been a favorite of mine since the 80's.
Love this song...and many of her others. Seems to me that she is very underrated in general. One of the coolest voices around.... :D

Kate has a new album coming out this year, 2005. Probably in the fall. And why wouldn't she like the music business? It's made her wealthy, she has carte blanche from EMI/Capitol to make whatever album she wants and they just distribute it for her. She has a home studio, which allows her to take 12 years between albums, and a large fanbase who'll forgive her that lapse, including me!
Can't wait for the new music!

I was remembering that album (that I actually owned) as not being the best Kayte Bush ever. I was keeping on going back to The Wuthering Heights whenever I wanted to grab something from her. Thanks for making me (re)discover this incredible song... :) :)
More Kate please!
Thanks for playing this one. I grabbed this album when it came out but only listened to it a few times. I love this song now. I'll have to go back and listen to the rest of the album again now.

Outstanding. I didn't know this song. Most likely because this is her only album that I do not have.
